I think it's obvious that the designation 'Word' indicates subjection in the 'beginning'.

A word is defined by the speaker. If the speaker is someone who's true to their word, then their word is equal to their intent, but the intent is the reality.

From what I've gathered YHWH isn't used anywhere in the New Testament. If they aren't using the "Word", why wouldn't they say His Name is "the Word of God"? Those that understand what the "Word of God" is would understand what is being referred.

Do you believe the "Word of God" is the Scriptures? Why didn't they say His Name is "the Scriptures"? And on that subject, do you really believe that 'all things came into existence" through the Bible? All things came into existence "whether the things in heaven or the things on earth" for and through the Bible?

That makes less sense than the trinity!

My personal feelings about this is that both the trinitarians and the jdubs have it wrong.

I think that for several reasons, but the main one is because I think they don't have an accurate understanding of what the 'Word' is. I believe that the 'Word' spoken of in John 1:1 is the Word that God created to say "I AM".

This means that Jesus/the Word is God because that Word reflects what God Is, but yet He's created, and in subjection.

Most people think that the Word of God is the bible, so they can't see how He can be created and be God, or be God and still be created.

this isn't jw related, but i was hoping to get some feedback on a problem that i'm having.. here's the deal.

yesterday my downstairs neighbor told the maintenance man that she want to shoot us (my family).

i've known for about 2 years that she has some mental problems and was somehow focused on us, but i didn't realize to what extent.. two years ago, around christmas, we came home from somewhere and saw 2 christmas cards laying on the rug outside our door.

I do understand that she's sick, but I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happend to my girl because I didn't take this seriously. You may be right about calling mental health professionals first, but I also liked outnfree's thought about finding out if she does have a registered firearm.

It would put my mind at ease if she doesn't. Is there anyway I can find out if the police won't even do anything about it?

I've decided that I'm going to report it to the office and to the police tomorrow. Thanks everyone who replied, you really helped me to sort it out...why doesn't that surprise me?

I'm a pretty laid back person, and I really don't like living under a threat, so I think the advise given to me is really the only way to go. Even though I doubt she'll act on the threat, I can't take the chance.

It would really be freaky if the husband doesn't exist (or live down there).

Spice, if she has a gun...then yes she's capable. Sieg doesn't think she has one, though. If it was just her with no gun...well, I'd f*&k her up if she tried anything.
