This board is not for me.
by Wafe inwhen i came to this board, i thought that it was for encouragement amoung people who had been treated badly by the wtbts, i did not understand that people were going to come here and bash god, his son and the bible.
i could understand some embitterment over religion but some of you people are down right insulting.
not to mention the fact that i have tried to contact others on the board and have had my messages ignored.. .

The group dynamics of this board continues to be as entertaining as it is thought provoking. I’m glad it never really changes through the years. People on is forum may change at times but the pulse of it’s heart beat seems to always find the balance…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………........................................... .....Before I continue, sorry for the dotted line paragraph breaks. This forum still does not seem to like Mac computers. It’s high tech discrimination! (Just kidding Simon)…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. I only post once in a great while but try to read (when I can) this board at least once every couple of weeks to see how my old friends are getting along and if they are playing nice together. There is nothing more beneficial to the exJW experience then a thread on this board where a (somewhat new) inductee to a life, after the life, exJW is trying to find their way, some answers, and they are being helped by a bunch of insecure neurotics who think they have found THE right way and THE right answers……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. when in actuality, what they have really found is their OWN PATH to THEIR OWN right way and THEIR OWN right answers………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. .Before any of you who don’t know me, get offended by my calling everyone “insecure neurotics” understand that I put myself and my closest friends into that same category as well as most all human beings (look up the “exact” definition of neurotic and decide for yourself). This board just happens to be full of some of my favorite insecure neurotics because we all share a command contributing factor in our neurosis. Where threads like this get a bit heated and the offended get even more offended is when the insecure neurotics push their own interpretation of THEIR OWN personal answers in the face of the other neurotics. It becomes a broken people neurotic free for all and in the beginning, nobody wins and in the end, everybody wins if they have the ability and desire to learn something…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………................................... ................... As my friend Farkel once said on this board, in his sarcastic and cynical wisdom, and I quote “We are ALL, a little bit broken”. To me, that was one of the wisest and thought provoking statements ever made on this board. And that incredible mind bending statement was made by a good friend and a person that is completely held together by large tube of psychological Crazy Glue………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. Now, Wafe, if you think this place is not for you, so be it and good luck in your healing process. It’s a cold and lonely world out there on your own. But if you are willing to stick around a little while and expand your mind’s boundaries to learn a few things, (not necessarily only about religious theory, but a little about human nature outside of the watchtower walls) I think it might help make you a more rounded person, let you better work out your confusions, and possibly give your present convictions a bit more balance. I have personally LEARNED as much from the people here I don’t agree with as those with whom I do. My thoughts about the whole “god” issue has not changed but only reinforced my own research and thoughts, but, my thoughts on the whole “people” issue has changed. This place has helped me tremendously in that aspect because it has so many “different” kinds of thinking people who, at one time, use think exactly the same way… This place is like a psycho therapist’s smorgasbord…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. Most of the people that come in and out the doors of JWD are, and were, just like you. Confused and a little bit broken. Now, a lot of them are a lot less confused but still, a little bit broken. But in between all the confusion some have discovered it is a lot more comforting because they have made some good friends here as opposed to just trying to make some good points here. If you stay, in time you will come to understand what you say in the way of expressing your thoughts and beliefs is more beneficial to the board’s positive group dynamics, as well as your own personal growth and healing, due to “how “ you say it, instead of “what” you may say. It will also help you add that grain of salt some have mentioned here, to better deal with the comments from the Jesus bashing, ancestors of monkey’s, like Outlaw and HS. ngenuous, Nothing is going to get some die hard JW’s to see or understand anything outside of what they have been programmed and told to see or understand. So what they may think or say is irrelevant in the realm of reality……………………………………………………….An exJW could run into a burning kingdom hall to save some lives and the die hard JW’s would find something to twist that act into something that is going to make it look bad and reinforce their thoughtless thinking and protect their incredible level of insecurity. That’s just the way their mind has been programmed to work and that’s good enough for them……………………………………………………………………………………………..Their whole existence is based on blackmail mentality. It’s all they understand. Do exactly what their leaders say and never question it or you will suffer their consequences……………………………………………………………………………….I never mention taking legal action. I think that would be pretty much a waste of time. I just said to get the story out. The true story will do more then a five year court case that the watchtower lawyers will keep appealing until they get what they want. Money wins court cases, not necessarily truth or justice. They know that…….besides, to take a misdemeanor crime to court is useless no matter whether you call it a hate or a love crime. Just to prove it is a hate crime would also take a lot of time…………………………………………………………………………………………..The story and public opinion is what is important. The WT lawyers and their public relations department spend a lot of time and money trying to hide their bullshit and keep their innocent god following persuade intact……………………………………………………………………………………………….Here you have a religion that justifies hating Christmas and ex-members who have done nothing wrong except not agree with all of their teachings and some of their brain dead followers act out what they have been taught. Just let them wiggle out of that concept in the eyes of the public that they hide from……………………………………..It’ may be just a small story but so is the one about a talking snake telling a naked lady to eat a piece of fruit and the whole world being screwed up because of it. MARY, I don’t disagree with you at all. They will probably not agree to it. That is not my main focus. The concept and the offer is what are important. It is a simple way to try and make things a little balanced in a very unbalanced and unjust situation offered by The VICTIM of the injustice……………………………………………………………………………………………... If the story does come out (and I think it will and should) the fact that LL and her husband made the offer to keep her thoughts within it’s own environment of her on going situation, and it was “turned down” will give the age old “judge for yourself” thought people have when a “no comment” answer is given in one of those investigative, whistle blower, shows so many see on TV, like 60 minutes, Dateline or what ever. The viewers mind instantly says “guilty, they are trying to hide something”……………………………………………………………………………………………………That is where my comment of “dammed if they do, dammed if they don’t comes in given the idea of the small meeting offer. Agree to it, and their story is told to the people who really need to hear it, their old JW friends. Disagree and the story is told to yet another group (public opinion) that will expose some justice and form opinion by everyone else…………………………………………………………………… A brain dead, die hard JW will spin it exactly as they are programmed to do. Giving the programmed thinking and response they only know how to do. But, any JW who has the ability to think just a little bit on their own may give it a little deeper consideration………………………………………………………………………………. This board is full of those kind of people who once only thought the way they were programmed to think and now know how to think all by their little selves………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. WP,……………..The problem with trying to address the whole congregation has several problems………………………………1, the whole congregation is not at fault…2,one of the biggest problems with getting JW’s to listen to anything an ex-JW has to say is they “lump think” us all into the same category..evil lying, disgruntled, dog puke. Not doing what they may do is doing it smart………………..…………….3,If this does go to the authorities and or media (and they could all have a good time with this), looking at it from a legal standpoint, they will only be interested in dealing with those directly involved or directly there that night. They will not be interested in any bible based rules or suggestions…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….You can’t get greedy when there is an opportunity like this…………………………………………You need to think intelligently and methodically about the big picture and keep in mind the group thinking and innate curiosity of the average JW……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………If a meeting like is set up by a (judge who’s main concern to seal with a hate crime) or (the elders with their main concern to try and keep his out of the press) just talking to the group involved will do a lot………………………………………………………..Think about every thing that can come of just asking for this meeting. If the elders say no, the press and public opinion will judge them for their actions. That will be huge exposure. If the elders agree to the meeting they may think that will be a great way to keep this quiet but the information that will be given out might make a few in the group think a little. One you get one JW thinking on their own, well……….. I think is great………………They’ll be dammed if they do and dammed if they don’t. Their crazy interpretation of justice and what is right will blow up in their face. And, all by their own doing because of their fear in their own thinking and need to control their own people……………………………………………………Dave

LL, Be smart. Look at this whole situation as an open door to do what you really want to do. I have read a lot of your posts from day one when you explained how you came to your decision to leave the JW religion based on your discovery of the 607, 1914 issue…………………………………………………………………………………… Now, use that…………………………………………………………………………. You have gotten a lot of suggestions in this tread. Some of them are made from (understandable) anger. Be smart and make a decision based on intelligence and calm resolve. I think this is a great opportunity to turn your stressful situation of leaving the JW’s to your advantage……………………………………………………………………. It is obvious this is as much of a hate crime as the fundamentalist Muslims who tried to park their borrowed jet plane on the side of a New York sky scraper or some moron who hates Jews taking a loaded assault rifle to show and tell day at a Jewish community center kindergarten class. Abuse of religion breeds hate, it’s their job. I love that term, “hate crime” given the JW thinking that disfellowshipping is an act of love and in their minds they would consider this a “love crime”)………………………………………………………..I’m not much for giving advice anymore but I couldn’t pass this one up. So here‘s mine…………………………………………………………………………Think about giving your local ex-congregation an offer. Tell them you have not decided to take this situation to the authorities or the media under the category of a hate crime, YET…and you will not make that decision YET if they will agree to do something for you…………………………………. That agreement will be to have the opportunity to have you and your husband explain exactly why you left the religion to the whole group of people who were at the JW New Years Eve party. You can give it a time table and say this meeting must happen in no less that a week from your giving them this notice. Then you can give all the information you have posted on this board about 607, 1914 and alike……………………………………………………………If they do not agree to this then you will do as you please with whole story…………………………………………………………You’re a smart lady, THINK about all the possibilities from all perspectives.
