I could have written that paragraph, for it sums up my view of music perfectly. Sadly, it seems I can't find anyone whose musical tastes haven't changed, to explain why that is.

A very fair point, Eric. Yes, some who leave the WTS never realize how faulty some of those teachings are.

You've gotten my thought process and psychology wrong every single time you've attempted to analyze it. You are wrong again. I'm not whistling anything, for that would imply I'm trying to convince myself of something. I'm not. I'm already convinced. I have facts on my side -- that can't be shaken by your threats.
Take your pick on the humongous disasters that we are ont he edge of. Do I have to name them for you?

But even if a disaster befalls us (hey, it happened once to the dinosaurs, so I'm not saying life couldn't be obliterated on earth again), it will have nothing to do with the Bible. All those fervernt believers will be wiped out along with the unbelievers.

When we left the JWs, we did so because of their false teachings. We saw through their faulty reasoning about why we are in the last days. We saw through their absurd arguments about how Revelation is being fulfilled in our day.
So why am I seeing threads and comments here about how the New World Order is a fulfillment of Revelation, or that the mark of the beast will soon be here? Didn't we learn anything upon our exit from the WTS? Why is it so hard to see through such nonsense when we now can clearly see through the nonsense the WTS taught?
Revelation has no application to the 21st century any more than it applied to the 16th century, or the 5th, or to one day the 29th century.
Government of the world may one day (not soon) unite, and if so that will overall be a good thing (with some very bad side effects), but it will have nothing to do with what someone in the first century wrote. We are also not living in the last days.
If anyone disagrees, the burden of proof is on them for making absurd claims. Keep in mind, people have been applying Revelation to events in every century since the first. They have all been wrong.
C'mon, people. If we can tear down the WTS arguments, the same methods can be used to destroy all fundamentalist thought. We have our brains. Let's use them.

Um, then why did you all read it?
What on earth?! We read it because you posted it with a big, red icon and the heading "Wow!!" Therefore I thought you had found something of interest or of value to the exJW community. After I read it, and saw it was just the ravings of a mentally ill person, I realized you had once again not bothered to take on the responsibility to filter out the garbage from the valuable.

This site is for anyone, absolutely anyone, who wants to talk about JW ideas. That level of freedom and openness, of course, tends to discourage any JWs from sticking around. They tend to prefer sites that won't allow anyone but themselves.

This is where discernment can come in handy. Ignoring what the person wrote, but merely examining how they wrote it, you can see clear signs of mental illness. Nothing of value will come from taking seriously what a severely mentally ill person thinks is happening in the world.
