As Japan had no such story in it's past tbn
that seems strange with that island nation gifting us with the word Tsunami.
i remember one of the flowchart responses to people questioning the biblical flood was something along the lines that "every culture has a flood story".. of course, nearly everywhere has flooded at one time or another and we know there are minor floods and then there are the 1-in-1000 year kind of weather event, that tend to get a mention (anyone from the uk will still talk about the summer of '76, and that's probably nothing in comparison to a decent flood).. but the inference is that the flood must be real, because every culture has a flood story.. the best response is "now do dragons".. because apparently, nearly every culture also has a dragon legend.. does it mean dragons exist?
some desperate jw may show their ignorance by suggesting that man lived at the same time as dinosaurs and they are what the stories were based on.
fun fact: stegosaurus was a fossil when t-rex was alive for longer than it's been since t-rex has been a fossil to us - we're talking old, and no overlap (ignore the map in the cover of the old green bible).. do jws still even bother trying to defend the cray-cray aesop-fable kind of ot beliefs?.

i could not for awhile technologically and it is now fixed thanks to simon.
thanks, simon!
Welcome back. I'm back too and look forward to your very intelligent comments. etude
blondie, yeah we look forward to a rendering of paragraph per paragraph wt previews, so we can escape the etude ( french for study) ourselfs. can surely be done without coming into conflict with copy cat catastrophes.

maybe the cangaroos could have hopped from Turkey's Ararat to Australia's Tasmania but how about koalas, with an eucalyptus lined road all the way?

The Genesis flood story doesn't hold water.
not true, it does. water covered the tallest mountains, even Everest, rain fell at a rate of 10 meters an hour.
these were all miracles, science fiction stories of the times they were written in. Even today, fiction and fantasy stories beat science coverage by a wide margin.
do not be a spoil sport. when listening to an elder, or BG member talk, just remember, he believes in the talking snake, water over everest and a 10 story ark towering above it, held together by dowels.
that will give you perspective. fiction is alive and well today.
i am plan to partake of the emblem for the first time.
i have informed my elders of my heavenly call during the time they met with me for my reinstatement last year on june, 2022. i informed my congo secretary also.
who else is intending to partake.
I am just partaking for the sake of it. bola
great idea, sake is great Japanese wine, beats merlot, chianti any time . but why do you want to buy into that whole balled up wt doctrinal package along with it?
the watchtower—study edition | february 2022. study article 6. do you trust in jehovah’s way of doing things?.
15 as the end of this system of things draws near, we need to trust in jehovah’s way of doing things as never before.
during the great tribulation, we may receive instructions that seem strange, impractical, or illogical.
‘fleshing out’ the fantasy with ‘details’
LHG, I remember in a book study a long time ago, that it would 7 years just to mark the location of all the corpses/bones to be buried later by the digging gangs. That was 7x7 years ago.
there is no joy in wt land even over the ever receding horizon.

During the great tribulation, we may receive instructions that seem strange, impractical, or illogical. Of course, Jehovah will not speak to us personally. He will likely provide direction through his appointed representatives.
note the generic term: appointed representatives. can not be the GB, they, being anointed, went to heaven at the beginning of the great tribulation. so there will be a new overlap, with the OS wt elite in charge. dont envy them, each armageddon survivor will have to cope with 1000 dead, a big task according to the "special talk"
yes he can. look closely.
please explain.
I recall when starting a new subject, that there is for a short while a bar under the new title, , where you can modify the content of the head line, separate from the edit button for the main text below. or? .

contrasting "david" wt poster boy and the man gathering firewood in the desert on the sabbath, and being executed for it. wt opined: may be he had other issues.
yeah, how about david, ready to kill all males because they did not pay protection money, the collecting of the foreskins, the census that killed thousands, the mistake of the ark on a wagon. --The story "David" stinks, but wt loves it, thinking it will shield them from responsibility now. and
poor Jonas, being made a false prophet. why did the deity not use it's foresight to include a repentance clause in the message? wt way of justifying their continued role as a false prophet. This time, unlike Jonah, a self made false prophet.
a lot of pimos are reporting that returning to the meetings is backfiring in that covid is spreading among the members returning.. post;.
so last saturday was my first meeting back in person and well it completely backfired.
last night i got a text from my group overseer saying that someone in the hall tested positive for covid and that we need to get tested(great 🎉).. honestly i kinda expected this.
This return to the k hall before the end of the pandemic shows, how bad wt decisions really are.
they sold the close - by halls everywhere. Now, the local hall[s] have a constant stream of overlapping meeting attendees squeezing through the doors, 10 am, 1 pm, 3 30 pm, without a break, without total ventilation, air exchange.
today's wt study: support gb's, elders decision even when they defy logic. right! heaven help the jws, when the going will get tough, based on wt history, even very recent ones, like the one to sell the neat, clean, isolated sanitized, home halls.
