  now, many years later, i remember the 1995 generation change, very well.. since early youth, hearing my father explaining in field service the 2520 years.

  it was his main theme in the field.. with the change my doubts started.

  with some jw friends we did not trust the organization anymore.

  sorry, in wt weirdness, Jesus' ransom only applies directly, as a mediator, to the 144 000, not to jws now, the prospective members the great crowd.

  From my understanding of the account in Genesis, God wasn't overly concerned about giving us a science lesson.
  As for the age of the earth I don't believe the bible claims he did it in seven literal days.

  PTB If the creator knew that his credibility would rest on the record he set, in his claimed word and creation, he would make sure that his works would not contradict his word. imho. He would know, that the truth about the truth aka his word, would come out, sooner or later.

  The bible claims that the Earth was created at the Big Bang, . the landscaping came later.

  have you ever stopped to think what the "out" part of bail-out means?

  normally you think of bailing water out of a boat, or maybe jumping out of a plane, but in financial terms the "out" means "outside money".

  The Bible speaks a lot about core values we need to embrace if we want the human race to survive long into the future.

  PTB: If true what you say, but then The author would not encase these gems into a setting that totally discredits "The word of God"s claim to divine inspiration, verification. such as Gen 1:1, which gives the planet Earth an age of 13,8 billion years.

  I still have my old 84 BF showing the anointed as the generation that would not die. Now all those pictured on that page who were actual anointed are all tits up. gone

  mbc: why would their timely death be a problem? it actually fulfills current wt prophecy, which has it, that all partakers will have to die before Armageddon, the Great Tribulation.

  Loesch should listen to the other Austrian, W. Pauli who said " that is so bad, it is not even wrong "

  because Jesus never said the generation would die before Armageddon, the greatest disaster to ever hit the human race. He said the generation would survive, and die, pass away afterward.

  old timers, and elders who have served for decades took the change of the vision in ezekiel chapter 40 thru 48 without blinking an eye.

  you are sadly mistaken.. i hear people say it on here all the time, and dare i say his name *cough* lloyd evans *cough* has said it a number of times, that watchtower is running scared and watchtower is in decline….. we need to put in perspective the decrease from the 2020 report.

  if we calculate a yearly -0.6 decrease over a 10 year period from 2020 figures it leaves us the grand total number of witnesses of:.

  by 2030: - 7,933,479. by 2040: - 7,471,357. by 2050: - 7,036,154. i agree that this is a significant decrease, but let’s not kid ourselves, the wt organisation will still be alive and well even with an annual 0.6% loss.

  Congratulations, Emma Raducanu!

  congratulations to ms raducanu, from orpington, kent (my hometown).. she has just won the us open on saturday.

  i don't have a tv license or a tv, but i did manage to see the final in my local pub.

  and the two finalists didn't disappoint - it was a cracking match with a high level of tennis.. and raducanu triumphed 6-4, 6-3. her achievement is pretty much unprecedented.

  Matthew chapter 24 mentions the great tribulation it technically doesn't mention Armageddon. DJW:

  imho, yes it does! because:

  verse 34 describes the generation that will pass away after the end. before that,

  verse 21 marks an event of greater destruction than the Deluge (cited again later) , Sodom & Gomorrah, or will ever occur again, so bigger than the post-millenium fire from heaven. therefore, that definition only fits Armageddon. ergo,

  "all these things" of verse 34 must include Armageddon, and the generation according to verse 34 survives it, to die later.

  Only one group of individuals fit those parameters: the Armageddon survivors that die in the final rebellion, ~ 1040 years from now.
