  during world war ii when the nazis occupied a large section of the western part of the ussr, heinrich himmler considered various methods to help control the indigenous population.

  alexander dallin reports in his book german rule in russia 1941-1945—a study of occupation policies, page 616:.

  “himmler conceded that the easterners needed some general system of values, but it was madness to spread nazism among them, and to revive the orthodox or to promote the catholic church in the east was dangerous.

  I think that himmler idea was a brainstorming theory only.

  German, Nordic settlers would have been under constant threat from the vengeful.and strong slavs. Pacifist Bibelforscher , unarmed bible nerds not strong burgs build.

  why do some people who were trapped in the wt and wake up after much frustration and anger that they were lied to, still believe in the bible god who allowed them and their families to be deceived and trapped for years.

  i have an acquaintance who is a lot older than me and for the past 30 years he has been out of the watchtower religion and is sola scriptura.

  sola scriptura is a theological doctrine that posits the christian scriptures as the sole infallible source of authority for christian faith and practice.

  I don't believe in "J" but I do believe there is some

  pp. the capital J is a confirmed personal stand-in symbol for that unfathomable possible creator, it was good enough for Einstein in 1915 too. but He might have changed his mind in the far greater catastrophe that befell his people in 1940-45.

  PP: excellent OP. One answer is, that the belief in a first cause is deeply ingrained in our view of the world.

  In 1915 ***, Albert Einstein asked " Where is the mighty Jehovah? " he saw himself in a struggle with "Der Alte" to wrestle cosmic secrets from a possible creator.

  (he did not unhinge his hip in the process bsw) only some long held scientific facts., approximations

  having proven to yourself that wt, and by extension scripture gives a wrong picture of reality, does not mean that there is ultimately no "J", an unfathomable creative entity.

  The one thing, wt does not want you to be anxious about is the possibility that they are wrong, as always, powerless to make the deity act, and therefore put you unnecessarily in harm's way, as did David and Salomon.

  A reptiles well lay many eggs, Salomon tried to emulate that by fertilizing many of his 1000 dedicated females.

  Do jw leaders of today have similar misgivings?
  

  should jws be calm, knowing that the deity has allowed past leaders to cause such calamities?

  I remember a slogan in the 1940s: J.G. : " Ruhe ist die erste Bürgerpflicht " (apologies for posting that on an english language site)

  hopefully history will repeat itself, with fewer victims.

  remember too, that if your wife is not acting her best, perhaps it is hard for her to understand the truth about the truth, It is stressful for her, but:

  she is not following watchtower or bible instructions. She is supposed to be extra nice to you. because you will be "sanctified" by her good conduct.

  so : help her doing that. The quest for the status quo.

  Ds: to be fair, in the zoom "service" meetings letter writing sessions with kids, -- cards to new widows, elderly ones might be included, but

  counting time anyway, because the kid writing is not baptised.

  Such letter writing might actually teach the harassed child to lie. since the sentiment are not it's own, but wording dictated by the person on zoom that is the influencer, The young victim learns in this way, how detached one's expression can be from the what one really thinks, wants to do; It also, by being the victim, teaches this process to use later on others.

  Cruelty administered on the lower ranks by leading Nazi bullies (and others too) in training, could have easily, given the opportunity, lead to cruelty done by us. .
