  Resurrection, Reconstruction? What is it? It never made sense to me. Your opinion.

  i never had much faith in whatever resurrection was.

  what appealed to me about jw doctrines was the rejection of the "it's a mystery" defense of the indefensible.

  when i would ask how going into non existence could be reversed when all the atomic parts of who we are had been scattered for thousands of years, the answer was "jehovah can do anything".

  Many people need a "resurrection" even before they die. Think of the dementia, alzheimers, sedated patients, that need to be brought back up to standards before replication. If you want to spool a life backward, what is the ideal level, with the rest of the time just memory?

  good question, never worried about that, beyond my rebuilding ability of stuff broken.

  It has to do with the mystery of consciousness, the picture we create of the universe in our brains/minds.

  The bible stories are not the answer.

  How about the dead that came out of their tombs during the time pf jesus' death, and went up into jerusalem?

  I refused appointment as a circuit overseer, during a successful (with help from the US Airforce) stint as a "special pioneer" couple in a dysfunctional congregation.

  The "Superior Authority" debacle had just shaken my faith in the calling and ability of the wt society, and living the sterile live of propping up their flawed doctrinal house of cards, and the wt power structure, was just too bleak a prospect.

  in this mid-week's video, the speaker talking about the marriages of jacob, and joseph, mentions, that jacob had 4 female bearers of his children; therefore the sons were closely spaced in age, perhaps born at the rate of 4 per year, in total much less then 10 years apart with joseph being the youngest at the time , perhaps 17. so:.

  the overlapping group generation championed by the same speaker, in the earlier teaching refers to "-- joseph and his generation died --" as key generation proof ext.

  we have the tacit admission that his core contemporary family generation group spans less than a decade.

  P Right, and even wt often uses that understanding when talking about family histories.

  In the OP I wanted to point out the inconstancy of using "Joseph's generation" as the starting benchmark of that doctrine, now it's revealed to be less than <10 years long. By contrast, the length of an overlapping group in the current anointed generation, - to be longer than >78 years, as said by D.S.in his chart video.

  That is a stretch to 10 times longer today, All taken from the book of Genesis, where people are said to live ~ 10 times longer than we today. The incredible generation that just shrunk 1000 %.

  the latest watchtower is now out and they make this statement -.

  7 during the thousand year rule of christ, all of jehovah’s earthly children will have to make changes to please him.

  so all of them will have true fellow feeling as they help the resurrected ones to combat sinful tendencies and to live by jehovah’s standards.

  with the upcoming elections, the campaigns and political rhetoric are ramping up.

  (ramping up is an understatement lol) .

  i remember a few years ago, gb member brother herd mentioned during one of his talks that several witnesses were either reproved or disfellowshipped for voting for a certain presidential candidate who won...twice.

  Voting is against my religion. I never raise my hand if asked to vote for or against any resolution presented by the kh leaders.

  no taxation no voice, no contributions, no vote. handy hand signals.

  voting in kh should be secret.

  reason or excuse they gave was ibecause they wanted to be part of history.
