I recognize the name Pakosh from somewhere, still on the shady side after 60 years.

The asiatic success story is one side of the coin, I have to go by the European perspective, and the wall from the Baltic to the south, and in berlin was testimony how humans detested the way marxism had to be implemented, linked to micromanaging lives. perhaps no fault of the theoretical ideal. The communist's escape clause was
"short time pain for long time gain" but it did not happen soon enough,--- never. While the US paid workers an hourly wage, Communist countries operated on a piecework system, and had star performers setting records in fulfilling their "quota".
There is something to be said for central control in wartime though, otherwise,
Marx missed the mark.

Socialist economies can't calculate
MMM: even if they could, human nature would stymie them. A commie factory was ordered to produce x number of footwear ( as calculated by Central Committee for need), promptly produced the most convenient to make, and at Kaganovitch pace and quality. not wanted, left the needy in need.

But what I understood of that bs explanation was they were giving around 30 years, what would mean about 2045,
Ray, but like in the 1975/ 6000 year published wt reference , by introducing the older anointed, as an aside, David Splane opened up the whole timeline.
Even modern science is still grappling what time is, a dimension, or just a natural measure of movement, so
wt's mixing, overlapping of bible chronology since Adam ( 6000) and prophet reading (1914) is way overrated. remember, "acting like a prophet" is the biblical equivalent of insanity

9751? no, David Splane came close to predicting indirectly 2075, by suggesting 2 older then F. Franz overlappers. Now, that is what I call soon. For 1975 wt gave us 6 years notice, With the overlapping groups 40 years? wt is playing it safe.

Jupiter protects the earth... another example of intellectual dishonesty and an argument against design
by cognisonance ini'm taking a university astronomy course, and i must say it's really fun to read about this field.
anyway, i remember the jws used to use jupiter (and probably still do) as an example for how unique and special our solar system is (and thus designed) -- namely, that jupiter protects the earth from astroids, comets, and meteors.
convincing if one doesn't know any better, especially circa 1994 when jupiter stepped in front of a comet for us... but this isn't the full story!

Jupiter is not only attuned to Earth's orbit, but everything about it is big. One of It's typhoons 3 times the size of Earth, just photographed in detailed close-up, has lasted ~ 400 years? the Jovian day is only 10 hours long. That is a big, fast spinning gyroscope. stabilization at it's finest. lucky us.

@Anony Mous Is that true?
2 days ago: asteroids are tools for evolution, without them you would not be here, terminating the Dinosaurs, and opening the niche for our ancestors. The details are sketchy, survivors: little mammals, now also frogs, but there were more than one partial extinction, caused by impacts, and Noah's flood was not one of them.
WtWizard: so far, more exo-Jupiters than Earth have been found, so, chances for exo cousins are great. They just found a star, smaller than Jupiter. but ~ 3 times the weight. so: no matter what we find out there, it's great around in here.

produce according to [maximum] of your ability, and take [minimum] according to your need? ... not want ?
People have self interests, and Marxism, as it has been attempted, has failed, because you would have to produce first super devoted persons to make the above work and palatable. . Communist countries were nightmares trying that.

Jupiter, with its orbital resonances is responsible for the asteroid belt, instead of a planet at 2.8 AU. but those asteroids are tools for evolution, without them you would not be here, terminating the Dinosaurs, and opening the niche for our ancestors.
Jupiter with it's close match to Earth orbit is a win win for us. by Jove.

---More difficult questions arise with the "if you change this specific factor, the universe as we know it wouldn't exist" line of reasoning. Modern physics seeks to get around this conundrum with multiverse theories,---
neverendingjourney: good point. life had to start and evolve to fit the conditions here, that came about by the forming of the Solar system, and Jupiter was first, the biggest and the most accurately matched in the "Titius"*** sequence. Slightly different emerging conditions should have produced different life forms.
Having to invent multiverses to lower the odds to have that happen by pure chance, is overkill, if it happened here. perhaps everywhere?
*** James Gregory 16xyz has priority claim to revealing the doubling of planetary orbit radii, now named after Tietze. so:
Without Jupiter's very close match to the Earth orbit in nature, and as seen in comparing them in the Bode sequence, which after all does nothing but classify them, we, as we know us, probably would not be here.
