Is it new light that only the anointed are written in the scroll of life? Listener
That makes for a 100% failure rate at the end of the world, because the anointed are slated to die and go to heaven at the onset of the great tribulation. The overlap will come to an end.
at least wt is honest, no absolute guarantees for survival at all.

This is worth pondering
by Truth-and-Justice into my friends on the board,.
i had troubles trying to find my password to log in, and because of that i had to come up with a new password.
i use to be truth and justice, so now its the same with the hyphens between the words.. i had read of certain ones here, getting an invite to the memorial.

Surely Jesus' ransom only bought back exactly what Adam lost - life on earth? B M
exactly, and the wine, symbol of the blood of the New Covenant seals that, if you drin of it. partake, then later, the other anointed have to forego, sacrifice that assured hope to qualify for heaven, as did the Christ. that is why
The coming of jesus at the great tribulation is troubling for me to fit in. Just another unexpected cliffhanger in wt theology.

waton ,can you verify this ?
Very interesting if correct .sm3: I am always listening with perked ears on these talks, turning clear instructions by the Lord, into pretzels by wt outlines and their unsuspecting, hapless, speakers. .
There were 2 outstanding points by this amazing not ethnic presenter. (whether that is verbatim in the outline, or his own logical conclusions , I do not know).
1) Memorial would stop at Jesus' coming at the great tribulation, ( I had hoped for a 1000 years of sipping ) and
2) switching from the blood of the New Covenant, (always the big chasm in the talk), the speaker mentioned that the Kingdom Covenant was already made. (true, because while the KC was mentioned to be done after the last supper, outside the upper chamber, there is also an earlier scriptural mention. so,
although the bread and wine was passed to the disciples with an earthly hope, they had been told way earlier they would be ruling over the 12 tribes of Israel. (Can that be construed to be the "Kingdom Covenant" mentioned in the talk?) ref: Math: 19:28 " sit on thrones with me, judging the 12 tribes of Israel-"
In Acts 1: 5,6,7, The last supper attendees still asked about the earthly kingdom to be established, with them ruling I suppose.

there are many comings, standing up, sitting downs of the messiah in scripture and wt descriptions. here is a new one , in today's memorial talk.
the wt memorial will be celebrated until the coming of the lord. this end shall coincide with the demise of the last "anointed" at the outset of the Great Tribulation. so, confirmed:
this year's memorial talk pinpoints Jesus's coming to be at the great tribulation, ( he also sits down to judge the sheep and the goats) and as Michael stands up for his people.
new light: jesus is coming at the great tribulation, 1914 fans, hang your heads.

Who is partaking of the upcoming memorial in April 15, 2022
by bola ini am plan to partake of the emblem for the first time.
i have informed my elders of my heavenly call during the time they met with me for my reinstatement last year on june, 2022. i informed my congo secretary also.
who else is intending to partake.

waton
is completely unrelated in my mind. I wouldn't want to 'partake' there as it has a whole different connotation to JWs than to most Christians. nbd:
here is what occurred to me: WT is asking the attendees to make the ultimate sacrifice, that is to forego the right to everlasting life on earth, that is made possible by the ransom, the blood of the new covenant.
the anointed of the overlapping generation accept the emblems, but sacrifice the right to everlasting life in favour of the immortal upward calling, as did jesus the "second Adam" btw.
you reject the emblems, you reject the ransom they symbolize.
wt is asking everyone to make the ultimate sacrifice, in their "worship the anointed elite" ploy.

Memorial Weirdness
by Ding inthose of us with a watchtower background probably see the memorial as normal.. at least, we're used to it.. we can forget how weird it seems to an outsider.. it's like inviting a group out to dinner, having meals placed on the table, and then explaining to them why no one present should be partaking of any of it because it's really intended for someone else..
-
waton
it's really intended for someone else. D
It is really an act of worship to that "someone else", because the meal offered is said to the symbol for the sacrifice only for that absent elite group, and
the audience is asked to sacrifice their right to the ransom symbols too. so,
rather than making it a uniting community meal, wt turns it into a dual sacrifice to the true worthies, because
any local partakers are surely not of that lofty class, the overlapping anointed generation.

Response to "The Flood is Real, Because ..."
by Simon ini remember one of the flowchart responses to people questioning the biblical flood was something along the lines that "every culture has a flood story".. of course, nearly everywhere has flooded at one time or another and we know there are minor floods and then there are the 1-in-1000 year kind of weather event, that tend to get a mention (anyone from the uk will still talk about the summer of '76, and that's probably nothing in comparison to a decent flood).. but the inference is that the flood must be real, because every culture has a flood story.. the best response is "now do dragons".. because apparently, nearly every culture also has a dragon legend.. does it mean dragons exist?
some desperate jw may show their ignorance by suggesting that man lived at the same time as dinosaurs and they are what the stories were based on.
fun fact: stegosaurus was a fossil when t-rex was alive for longer than it's been since t-rex has been a fossil to us - we're talking old, and no overlap (ignore the map in the cover of the old green bible).. do jws still even bother trying to defend the cray-cray aesop-fable kind of ot beliefs?.

As Japan had no such story in it's past tbn
that seems strange with that island nation gifting us with the word Tsunami.

maybe the cangaroos could have hopped from Turkey's Ararat to Australia's Tasmania but how about koalas, with an eucalyptus lined road all the way?
