it seems to me that there is a world of difference between the textbook 'skits,examples on the platform' ministry and the reality of the door to door work in real life.
surely for a bible study coming into the jw religion and having seen all these perfect examples, to be faced with the bitter truth when they do start knocking on the doors must be really jarring?.
surely they will either conclude that they are rubbish at the ministry or that they have been lied to?.
The skits are totally unrealistic, no normal person will submit to such simplistic information exchange,
This exercise is to dull the members minds, reinforce their beliefs internally.
If some creative soul adds some spice, humour, the better, it still serves wt's purpose to fill the mind with wt think to the exclusion of real live brain joy.

i am curious as to the various opinions on there value.. for me i have been inactive for 3 years almost 4. i still have alot of books and of course all their bibles ever produced (except a few from the 1800s.).
in my opinion i think there are four books the jws produced that are useful:.
Proclaimers book. page 426, I have 2 artifacts from the picture there.

RK: yes I agree, that is THE method to get at the core of the wt syndrome.
It takes the bible ideas seriously, , and wt beliefs, but at the same time debunks it all.

RK: not just your's; one could imagine that the double portion in Rev 7 is a message to those that handed out the empty promises since 1919.
imagine the case where a student disagrees with his teacher's method, and believes that he knows a better way.
the teacher realizes that if he kicks the student out of the classroom, the other students may begin to wonder if the teacher was hiding something.
to settle the matter once and for all, the teacher gives the student a chance to prove himself.. wisely, the teacher takes a moment to lay down the parameters for the challenge.
wt used the teacher/ student challenge as an illustration in the blue " everlasting life " book.
It must have been done to prevent any thinking human to become a witness. because:
students have always as a whole, triumphed over their teacher's teachings.

R.K. If the bible would be meaningful, these people you mention would be of the tribe of Joseph. in Rev 7. whistleblowers, hated and condemned by the ruling majority, who hopefully will eat out of their hand one day, as good puppies should.
