what's your opinion of elders that are still in the organization but are starting to realize that what they thought was the truth really isn't?
let's say they know that the teachings, the prophecies, etc.
are not true----but for various reasons, are still in----does this make you feel they are hypocrites?
Recovering from the JW experience is a process, not an event.
We all have to start somewhere, and I would never accuse anyone in the early stages of their exploration towards freedom of being a hypocrite.
yes, the headlines are true.. last night, after getting my hair cut wayyy off (i have a faux hawk guys, it's cool to be butch) i went to borders for my usual perusal of porn (kidding, i bought a cookie from mrs. fields and it was the only other warm place open in fresno).
upon entering the back doors of borders, my girlfriend and i felt an immediate presence of pure evil!
you know, the kind only a jw can put off.
I felt immature... but I FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT!!!!!!!
It was not you two who were being immature.
Shunning in any form is idiotic and childish. Your girlfriend's response was more than called for, and downright adult of you both! They deserved what was coming to them. Good for you!
I'm not whithered! I'm only 25!!
But surely by now you have been thithered!
i just thought i would share this little gem that showed up in my e mail box.
it seems to be making the rounds of dubdom at the moment.. rats and rap music.
it took them 10 minutes to go through the maze, just as .
Then he took the 3rd group of rats that had been exposed toRap musicKingdom Melodies, and had them go through the same maze routine. The brother asked the audience, "Do you know how long it took
that 3rd group of rats to traverse the maze?"
The congregation was very quiet. The brother astonished them when he said, "Would you believe it
took that 3rd group of rats 20 minutes? The exact same maze they were originally able to get
through in 10 minutes now took them twice as long.
Do you see how theRap musicKingdom Melodies slowed them down mentally, . . . and the rats didn't know what the words were either." Interestingly, he then continued on, and said that the young man couldn't
continue the experiment any further, and he asked, "Do you know why?" The audience was quiet
again, and the brother explained, "The rats that had been exposed to theRap musicKingdom Melodies for 10 hours a day for two weeks started to kill each other!"
Then the brother.concluded with the thought provoking question, "Do you really think that such
vulgar, profaneRap musicKingdom Melodies has no effect on you?"

using the internet, you can continuously monitor its location anywhere in usa.
How about microchip implants that people have surgically installed in their pets?
what an audacious question!
" wow, bradley -- how could you stoop to such levels?
do you consider most people as simple sleepwalkers through life not paying much attention to reason, logic, science, history and a desire to understand?
Considering the popularity of most mindless television shows, not to mention hare-brained, idiotic commercials, I would have to say that the broadcasting industry recognizes the fact that the majority of their viewers are significantly stupid.
today is pearl harbor day.. just so we don't forget the events of december 7, 1941......... franklin d. roosevelt's pearl harbor speech (december 8, 1941).
to the congress of the united states: .
yesterday, dec. 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the united states of america was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the empire of japan.
From what I understand no one really felt FDR was up to the task on this date 6 decades ago. But he rose to the task and has been remembered as a great leader. I fell the same will hold true for GW Bush.
I agree with you, Stacy. I do not want to turn this into a political pro-Bush/anti-Bush debate, but I will say this: When the events of September 11th occurred, Mr. Bush proved himself able and competent as a leader, much in the same way FDR did during Pearl Harbor. I may not agree with much of the current administration's policies, but this is one thing he did do right, and at the right time. He will be remembered in a positive light for his leadership during that crisis.
It is my sincere hope that our country remembers that the dangers of December 7th and September 11th loom just as large today as they did in 1941, if not moreso. IMHO, we need to concentrate our efforts on the complete annihilation of the Al Qaeda organization, and we need to be looking a little harder at imminent nuclear threats such as North Korea.
congregations want court order .
by jim mcbride.
jehovah's witnesses congregations in amarillo and dumas are seeking a court order protecting them from releasing documents in a lawsuit filed by a woman who claims a former church elder sexually abused her.
And besides, legally, the courts are only concerned with whether a group meets the legal definition of a religion, not whether they meet any external definition.
I wonder how much of this shameful pedophile cover-up our members of Congress are aware of?
Perhaps it's time for them to be contacted, with the possibility of legislating change in the legal definition of religion. Other countries have done it. Why not the U.S.?
