Sanderson Patronises Ex-Bethelites
by konceptual99 indon't normally waste time watching these but this one caught my eye as it was obvious what the subject matter would be about..... http://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodprogramsevents/pub-jwbmw_201604_2_video.

Not to mention the increasing use of temporary/commuter bethel labour. This has the double bubble win for the WTS as (a) each one pays their own way and (b) the faithful jump at the chance to have this type of "privilege". -

Mark Sanderson: Accept Change With Faith and Confidence (Heb. 13:17)
Basically Sanderson is giving a pep talk to all those that have new assignments changed. He uses all the normal examples of Moses, Abraham, Jesus and then his own example of being asked to start a new assignment on Monday morning by the GB on the Friday afternoon.
This is all well and good but he is forgetting one thing. Most of the Bethelites that have had their assignments changed actually have had them stopped. They have lost their jobs. They have been told to make it as pioneers if they can. Special pioneers have had their stipends removed and been demoted. DOs and those over 70 have been sidelined and told to get on with it.
His new assignment involved him jetting off to the Philippines for a few years then coming back to be graced with the top job. He didn't have to try and find work after being institutionalised for decades. He wasn't told that he was entering in to the best career into the world only to be tossed aside at a moments notice with less workers rights than an illegal immigrant.
I really hope there are ex-Bethelites the world over watching this and sticking their fingers up to this patronising nonsense.

The Jehovah’s Witness bagged themselves a Big One when they got Professor Raj Kalaria, to speak about his belief
by Watchtower-Free inuk scientist helps christian cult to promote creationism.
the jehovah’s witness bagged themselves a big one when they got professor raj kalaria, above, to speak about his belief in creationism in a new video posted online by the cult.. keralia is currently a deputy director of the newcastle centre for brain ageing and vitality, newcastle, and a professor of neuropathology at newcastle university, uk.. when ex-jehovah’s witness lloyd evans, who runs jwsurvey, discovered that an april 2016 jw broadcasting episode featured keralia, he decided to:.
reach out to newcastle university to find out whether it endorses the academic’s stance on evolution, and found myself in a rather frustrating email exchange with helen rae, the media relations manager at the university’s faculty of medical sciences .. after much to-ing and fro-ing, an official statement was finally forthcoming ….

I agree with the principle of what you are saying WSICMS, I just don't think the University was prepared for any fallout from his interview, perhaps had little knowledge of it and didn't know Cedars from Adam. If it was one or more large media organisations on the phone repeatedly and/or if there was some more publicity amongst the public at large, plus if it was being portrayed as the position of the University then perhaps there might be a more robust statement.

JWs' love to brag about preaching but.....
by pleaseresearch inif what they are preaching about is untrue and false, does it really count?
i mean over the 100 years plus we have been going, how much of what we taught was absolute crap.
how many things taught about never came true.

I have copied out below....

I think he's lucky to get anything at all. Unless the reputation of the University was at risk or there was some aspect of gross misconduct then why the hell would the media department feel the need to issue a statement criticising a member of the faculty, especially someone unknown to them without even the backup of representing a recognised media organisation. -

Model Jw family?
by MrTheocratic ini would like to get the opinion of those on this community.
does serving as an elder make one a bad family man.
with all the demands placed on those serving... how can one make time for family life?

Reading between the lines, the elders destroyed the letter on the basis that under DPA laws they had no need to keep it. This most likely would either have been after the DF was confirmed by the branch or at the end the year as a result of the yearly reminder to rid the files of as much "superfluous" paperwork as possible. There is of course the chance that once the legal action was initiated the file was checked and purged either unilaterally by the local elders or on instruction from the branch or CO. Who knows...?
As I say, there is plenty of evidence of typical kangaroo tactics by the elders on the JC but for me the question still remains as to what were the circumstances that lead to an accusation being made and could this undermine Mr. Otuo's position and credibility?

In the UK it's from the branch. Everyone other than local bethelites will stream the talk to their local hall either in real time or another point over the weekend. -

Are Witnesses really "Bible Students"?
by stuckinarut2 inwe were always told that as witnesses we were "sincere bible students".... carefully examining the scriptures.. yes, we were indeed taught much about the content of the bible, it's history, prophecies etc..... but it was always from one perspective....that of the society.
when the society changed its interpretations, we had to do the same..... so were we really "bible students", or "society students"?.
just a thought.....

How long have you been a Witness DY?
Surely you must realise by now that the vast majority of mentally in Witnesses will always revert to type when push comes to shove.
Very, very, very nice individuals that will unilaterally shun you for simply trying to agree to disagree.
Very, very, very nice elders that say all the right things in the hall but will stab another elder in the back quick as a flash rather than stick their neck out for what is reasonable.
