Here's the QFR from the magazine.
How can the congregation express its joy when an announcement is made that someone has been reinstated?
ˇ In Luke chapter 15, we find Jesus’ powerful illustration about a man who had a flock of 100 sheep. When one of the sheep was missing, the man left the 99 behind in the wilderness and went after the lost sheep ‘until he found it.’ Jesus continued: “When he has found it, he puts it on his shoulders and rejoices. And when he gets home, he calls his friends and his neighbors together, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ ” In conclusion, Jesus said: “I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous ones who have no need of repentance.”—Luke 15:4-7.
The context shows that Jesus spoke these words in order to correct the thinking of the scribes and the Pharisees, who criticized him for associating with tax collectors and sinners. (Luke 15:1-3) Jesus pointed out that there is joy in heaven when a sinner has come to repentance. We ask, ‘Since there is joy in heaven, should there not also be joy on earth when a sinner has repented, turned around, and made straight paths for his feet?’—Heb. 12:13.
When someone is reinstated in the congregation, we have good reason to rejoice. The person will have to keep on maintaining his integrity to God, but he had to be repentant in order to be reinstated, and we are glad that he repented. Accordingly, there may well be spontaneous, digni-fied applause when the elders make an announcement of a reinstatement.
disclaimer: my graduate degree is in business, not science so i'm writing as a layman in this field.
yes, i know that someone is going to say that evolution does not encompass this topic and should be sectioned off under abiogenesis.
i'm not trying to argue semantics here but it seems like a case of avoiding an uncomfortable subject.
Are you able read? English?
I can read and I am English. Is that what you were asking?
depressingly predictable instant reaction . . . . .
No. Despite your disclaimer, what you actually quoted from the Cambridge Dictionary has nothing to do with the origin of life. Despite your disclaimer, the thread title has everything to do with Abiogenesis.
What I find not at all credible is that there is some supernatural being out there who went to all the trouble of putting stuff on the Earth, created a being capable of understanding something about that stuff but is happy to continue to let those beings endure the worst shit imaginable when it is 100% in his power to stop it, just so he can be Billy Big Bollocks and not lose a bet.

Ever heard of this?

how does the society feel about two of marvel's most popular avengers?.
first, captain america.
the star-spangled man with a plan.
Not had any problems with my kids seeing Marvel films. I don't know anyone who is down on them.
LOTR/Hobbit on the other hand does invoke some judgemental noises.
Harry Potter - well that just makes you an apostate.
the man asked jesus who is my neighbor jesus stated the one who acts mercifully toward other humans.
not good enough for watchtower neighbor must fit in three catagories only according to yesterdays wt wow changed the words of the son of god.
lanalonger - In line with sir82's post can I ask you to read an old thread of mine and comment?

At the risk of being accused of blatant self promotion I would ask you to consider if the seemingly deliberate inefficiency of the preaching work actually calls into question if Jehovah meets his own recommendations for neighbourly love?

Actually during the commenting on that paragraph we agreed it was everyone.
I stand by my defense of the article, it's tone, content, and intent were to teach, as one subheading expressed, to show love to all persons. One day that won't have to be taught, it will have been learned and be in practice, to everyone's 'exquisite delight.'
When I was fully in then I would have said exactly the same thing. Once I woke up to the pointlessness of the preaching work, it's value compared to practical charitable help was totally reversed.
one of the biggest gulfs that life has had to cross was the transition from sea to dry land.. fish have conical shaped heads, reptiles have flat heads.
fish have no necks; their heads are attached to their shoulders by a series of bony plates.
land-dwelling animals all have necks; their heads can move independently of their shoulders.
OK then Creationists... let's for one moment presume that evolution is not correct and that Jehovah created each "kind" (whatever that really is) and there has been no transition from one species to another. The fact remains that fossils like Tiktaalik exist. Fossils show countless different life forms, virtually all of which are extinct.
Why? Why does the fossil record not contain examples typical of modern species, especially as you look into older and older rocks?
What reasoning is there for the amount of animal creation apparently evident in the fossil record simply not existing any longer? Was God simply making it easier for Adam to name them all?
