I've had a similar thought @theredeemer. They can use website statistics to claim a true global witness is being given. Again, I hope they do since it's a marker that implies more developments but of course none will come.

Well I for one hope millions of people go to the web site and ready the latest YPA on Creation v Evolution. I really thought the WTS had worked out not to use the worst, most debunked arguments against evolution (at least in public) yet there they are for all to read.

i thought i was getting through to him but i think my criticism and tone became a bit too strident in my last email and now he thinks that i am attacking him personally.
i think he has dismissed everything i said because he perceived me as 'overally critical, and rude.. .

You laugh, but I can think of a good half-dozen JWs who would come up with some variation of the above as an explanation.
I know a Witness (not that old) who still thinks dinosaurs were alive at the time of flood and were there to clean up dead animals.

Suicide - How many do you know within the JWs

one interesting but truly tragic is the number of jwhovah's witnesses who commit suicie.. now i suspect that if a person commits suicide shortly before or after they are disfellowshipped then the elders would say that person wasn't a witness or that they had done something so terrible that they were too guilty to admit it and by their action of committing suicide they pretty much declared they were no longer a jw.. yup fancy talk to make sure any crap didn't fall on them.. so my question.. do you know of cases like this?
if so then can you answer a few more questions.. had this person been dfed or in real danger of being dfed or whatever the equivalent is if they were never baptized?.

I know a sister who had a history of depression and mental illness who killed herself.
I also know a guy in his twenties who hanged himself in the New Forest after being exposed as having child porn on his computer. The sad thing is that this was just history repeating itself as he had been abused himself.

Something Big is Coming...

The translation work was highlighted by a foreign language overseer in a very recent talk to an English speaking congregation in the Mediterranean.
He said that it is currently around 600 languages and they want 1000 by September. This will never happen in the timeframe but I think there is something in the multi-lingual side of things. I think they (a) may relate it to bible prophecy and use it as a way to get out of 1 billion people not having any meaningful access to the D2D/cart preaching work, (b) want ever bigger numbers to compare to wikipedia and google language numbers and (c) try and reach more peoiple via the website

they were used in distributing the new publications to convention delegates..

There has been female attendants at UK comventions for years but their role has been limited to looking after the needs of the infirm and any female related special need. This includes monitoring the queue for the ladies loos.

Yup, cos there is nothing even remotely bizzare about dancing in suits and ties in a car park, or cheering like a bunch of fans at a movie premiere for some people who managed the ridiculous feat of getting on a plane, flying to another country and then going on a bus trip. In a suit.
Oh, and it proves white people can't dance. In (or out of) a suit.
I just wish they would admit they are having a 100 year birthday party. In suits.
