i have noticed that the jws are participating in meetings organized by the osce.

they are registered or participate under the "european association of jehovah's christian witnesses".

one point highlighted in this organization is tolerance.

The OSCE organisation has a permanent council in Vienna, Austria, Europe

A simple search for jehovah in the osce homepage leads you for example to all the interesting articles by the europan association of JW concerning religious freedom in russia or ukraine. Of course JW are active here.

In Austria - my country - Jehovahs witnesses are one of the 16 state approved churches and religious societies, The state has very well a right to look into a religion. They have same duties and rights like islam, catolic, protestant or mormon church. They could offer religious education in school classes, or demand monthly contributions. In Austria obviously as JW you are becoming a "real member " of an state approved institution. Austria lateley changed the religious law for Islam, to prevent financing of terrorism and djihad extremist ideology, via financing of education, training of extremist Imam in Vienna. Before the acceptance of JW as approved religious society it is has been very well checked, wether the teachings are acceptable for the public welfare or not.

BTW, GB member Gerrit Lösch is Austrian citizen.

Hungarian Orban inscenated a concept of enemies using the refugees! Hungarys image is destroyed.
What he claimed that a flood of refugees attacks europe, and he produces the suitable pictures of xenophobic ideology. Hungary again stopped bus transport to austria, now againg new ones are beginning their march to Austria. Now there are coming thousand, perhaps there will be yet ten thousands, but with the right management austria will cope with the situation.

Some pictures of our syrian brothers, havent most of us been refugees of a totalitarian regime? How happy they are to be safe.

A border fence and physical mistreatment of refugees is no solution and is inhuman

Muslim community helps. We have appr 600.000 muslims in austria, in vienna 216.000. In my town I have many muslim neighbours, the christian syrian refugees are heritants of the christian beginning. Syria, Damascus was the frist state that became christian, many syrian speak the language of jesus.

Austrian aid organsion transports via truck food and medicine to the greece border town where refugees need care and tries to help in hungary.

did you know how (in sworn testimony during the recent australian royal commission hearing) governing body member geoffrey jackson responded to the question, do you see yourselves as jehovahs spokespeople on earth?.

jackson replied, that, i think, would seem to be quite presumptuous to say that we are the only spokesperson that god is using.. really?

What ever the origin of the refugges, they didnt see a future for the children any longer in syria, sad.
Now we can only help.

Although lodging and apportionment of refugees is a problem in austria, austria is one of the countries, i think second after sweden who already immigrated the highest number of syrian and afganistan refugees, 20-30.000 new asylum application in 2015.

The picture with the suffocated refugees in the truck was in the newspapers. They had only air for some minutes and no possibilty to escape. Another truck of the same smuggler transported 81 refugges but the people could somehow destroy violently the sidewall of the truck and get out of it.

The fading albatros: integration projects in sweden, germany, switzerland, austria show that they most refugees are humble persons that will learn our language, workd and live with the family at a secure place, they are only happy to be free of the daily war.

Muslims are since long part of Europe and have been living peaceful with others.

At the moment already 4000 refugees passed the Hungarian -Austrian border and got shelter in event-halls where they get medical care and food of our aid agencies. They have been brought with hundreds hungarian buses this rainy and cold night escorted by hungarian police to the austrian border. They did not want to be registered in Hungary.

They were welcomed with applause in Austria. There are waitiing hundreds of busses yet at the austrian border, 10000 refugees are awaited yet.

Most of them want to go to Germany because they have family there or because Germany Merkel has invited them or because there are the best opportunites there, they think. Only a handsome of them want asylum in Austria.
Austrian railway organises then the transport corridor over Salzburg to München, Germany. Austrian cancellor Faymann has appealed to hungarian politicans to act conform the genf convention for refugees.
It is an humanitarian responsibility to help and to share ones material possestions if you are confronted with people who are need help.

These people are refugees ant not "terrorists" or prospective "IS-djihad-sleepers".

The recent Royal Commission hearings have stirred up my emotions ....

i hope the royal commission will be able to force the jw organization to take a serious look at itself ,and will cause some much needed changes.. i have been following the trial faithfully ,and unfortunately it has dredged up some deep pains from years ago .

you think some of that old baggage is neatly packed away never meant to see the light of day again .....but then boom there it is again .. hearing what bcg had to go through, and how she felt trying to get help from the elders was heart-wrenching.

i remember the terrible way young women were treated in the 1970's .
