Well, I'm happy for both JWD and LambsRoar (and the effect we're having), but I'm really annoyed that they lost our reviews. We had 4-5 and now they're all gone
oh well, we're number 1 & 2!!

here are the updated alexa ratings.
jwd is the top rated christianity site as well as the busiest jw site.
i'm very proud of the fact that lambs roar is the second busiest site in both categories.

several posters have started threads recently about the difficulty of moving on from the witnesses; the way the old emotions, and the old struggles, keep coming back.
i've been feeling that way myself recently, and i just wanted to share something i read this afternoon.
it's from a path with heart, by jack kornfield:there are stories about how the buddha practiced when he was assailed by doubts and temptations.
We made the 'Lambs Roar' connection at LambsRoar, but we're not just about survivors of sexual abuse (although that is our main subject line). But I know what you mean, by use of the term people automatically assume....
I guess my point is that for many of us, leaving the JWs was a big part of "the bigger picture". Personally, leaving the JWs is the most important decision I've ever made and ever will make.
me too!

as i head off to baghdad for the final weeks of my stay in iraq, i wanted to say thanks to all of you who did not believe the media.
I agree.
I wasn't trying to discredit the letter though, I was making an "Even if..." statement. (just in case I wasn't clear)

you know what? Maybe it's not a truthful letter, but the fact is that **GASP** there are soldiers in Iraq that hold these same opinions, just like there are soldiers that are against the war. They are no different than we are except for the fact that they are fighting for freedom and we're just bitching about it.

Show some respect and stop with the insults. The simple fact is that we have had to endure a barrage of lies, crap and manipulation for some time and enough is enough. If you want to jump on *one* shell being found as the justification for your war then fine. But do me a favour - stop with the pretence that you are a christian and this whole "rev" thing eh? It makes my stomach churn.
Nice. Great example Simon.

PS - My user name has nothing to do with Christ, and if I did have a thread of respect for you I might volunteer what it does stand for.
edited to add that I don't believe this shell is evidence, I was merely attempting to show respect for those that have the opinion that it does. It's ok for them to believe it Simon, this is a free world, it doesn't belong to you, get used to it.

oh that's right, all of our opinions are un-biased.
That's the amazing thing about having an opinion, we have every right to be biased!

Simon, you're being so irresponsible here and it's starting to make me nauseous. We have a sales manager in our company here that has a son in Iraq who's able to email us every few days. The things he's reporting back are like a mirror of what this soldier wrote.
To sit there and accuse this guy of being a liar while he's putting his life on the line for all of us is disgusting.
Rev
PS - You should be ashamed and you owe this soldier an apology (IMHO)

C'mon - labelling people Bush haters because we don't believe that *one* shell was justification for war is just making you look incredibly petty and DESPARATE !!
Well, first of all - no-one labeled any particular person a Bush hater and second of all, no-one said it had anything to do with any opinion stated on this thread; and third - who needs to be desperate here? You whiners are just going to continue pissing out this foolishness while those of us that support our President, our troops and this war smirk in amusement.
I support Bush now and most likely will do so for the duration of his 8 years in Presidency. The very statement you've made above and assuming that we're "desperate" (for some unknown reason) proves to me that you don't have a grasp whatsoever on reality here. Your mind is so wound up on the whole thing that you can't even imagine that any of us might have a valuable opinion. I would respect your views at least a little if I ever once saw you put forth some sort of effort in respecting any person on this forum that had an opinion contrary to your own.

Bush Haters are just like JWs, they believe what they want to believe no matter what evidence they're faced with. It's never enough and always followed by a better explaination.
