Baptized at 13, started having doubts shortly thereafter, but hung in there until I was 28. Began being sporadically inactive shortly thereafter, but didn't leave for good until I was 37. Spent 15 years thinking I was the only one out there, and then I found the Net. I'm now 55.

Strange comment after shooting
by detective ini was listening to the news this morning and they were reporting on a double shooting that had just happened at a pharmacy.
details about the shooting weren't available as it had just happened but the reporter detailed what he was witnessing as the emts removed two badly wounded victims from the pharmacy.. about ten minutes later he came back on the radio and gave an update, including comments from a pharmacy employee who was due in at nine am (the shooting must have taken place around 8:30 or so).. .
reporter: did you find what happened here surprising?.

Vicki Boer trial: Friday Sept 20

the morning was taken up by testimony and cross examination of dr. silver, an expert witness in psychiatry called by watchtower.
the basic thrust of his testimony was to minimize the trauma experienced by vicki during the four different interogations by the elders and confrontations with her abuser.

I Got Bit By a Squirrel!

Since your finger didn't bleed, but the bite broke the skin, then you definitely want to get it checked and perhaps get an antibiotic shot just to guard against infection.
Bleeding is actually a way to flush bacteria out of a wound, so any bacteria that was on your skin or in the squirrel's mouth could enter the pinhole-sized wound and set up shop. I was bitten by a feral cat that I was taming. It wasn't his fault, it was mine, but he really nailed me with teeth and claws.
Since he was feral, I knew that the Department of Health would want his head on a platter. He had been coming around for over a year for food, however, and I knew he wasn't sick....just frightened....so I didn't go to the doctor. I also didn't clean the wound sufficiently at first, and my hand got infected. I DID treat it myself with hot water soaks and Tea Tree oil, and everything worked out fine, but my hand did swell quite a bit, and it really hurt.
So have them check it out.

OUTLAW`S Morning/A Screaming Woman
by OUTLAW init`s usually pretty quiet up on the side of this mountain,but not this morning.i was awakened by a screaming woman farther down the mountian side.she was really screaming and screaming .she continues screaming and saying help me,somebody help me,god somebody help me.i figured something really nasty was going on so i quickly got dressed,got my ass out the door,and down the side of the mountian.when i got to the spot where the screaming was coming from,it was quiet with the exception of a passing plane and a vehicle that went by,so i kept looking around.i came across a lady in a van and asked her if she heard anyone screaming.she said yes,that was my daughter throwing a temper tantrum,and thanked me for coming to see what was wrong.i could see the daughter walking down the road and she was fine,so i hiked back up the mountain to my house....jeeez,what a way to wake up in the morning.you would have thought some one was being raped or being beaten to death....my cat just puked on the carpet....the day just has to get better..lol...outlaw

Did some more checking on lagomorphs, squirrels and rabies. Although it is possible for a squirrel to be rabid, the possibility is very small since, in order to be infected, a squirrel would have to survive an attack by a much larger, rabid animal. The chances of that are remote, which is why you almost never find a squirrel that is rabid.

Lagomorphs (and I'm pretty sure that squirrels are in that category) do NOT carry rabies. How do I know this? Well, when I was bitten by a chipmunk (long story) I went to the ER and totally confounded the doctors there. They knew that rabies wasn't anything to worry about, but they had no idea WHAT I might get from a chipmunk bite, so they just gave me a general antibiotic.
Make sure the wound is clean and washed out well. I would check with the doctor anyway, however, since any type of animal bite can get infected.

This statement is reminiscent of statements posted by JWs after the attacks on the WTC last year. Many were quite matter of fact about it, and many were excited. Tragedy fits well with a doomsday scenario.

Apparently Elders conducted investigations and determined the number of vultures required to consume a small, 7 year old child in under an hour, and are basing their calculations fro the required numbers of vultures on this information.
Do you know whether or not they tested various scenarios? After all, a fully "ripe" cadaver could be consumed in less time than an "unripe" one, and unless a full battery of test cases was set up, the numbers of vultures could be grossly skewed, making for a rather nasty time of it.
Imagine all the good dubbies happily picnicking with Abraham when they are invaded by the excess vulture population that has been deprived of sufficient carrion to sate their appetites. And they think seagulls cause trouble? HA!
