Flower.. Michal.. I am a phone call or email away hun. If you ever need someone to talk to I will be here for you. It is quite obvious a lot of people on this board cherish your presence and care about you quite a bit, I know I do.

You are a beautiful, loving woman, and dont let things get you down. Life is too short and precious to be weighed down by nonsense.

Keep your head up, smile, and you can make it. It is absolutely normal to be sad and depressed from time to time. You are not alone. There were times I laid in bed wishing I would not wake up, and seriously contemplated suicide. That is the programmed response the JW are taught if they stray from the fold. To feel shamed, to feel wrong, to feel hopeless, to feel unworthy of living.

You have so much to live for! Look at your beautiful child. You are being a good mother raising a child on your own. Personally I dont find anything in this world that can match tbe beauty and integrity of a woman who shows unconditonal love for her babies, and takes the responsiblity and burden of being a single parent. I respect you Michal, and admire what you do.

Go ahead and cry, let it out. Tomorrow is a new day, and a bright one. You have friends here. Never ever forget that.

Now that Ive made my post regarding literature and facts, on an emotional level I would like to say I feel genuine sadness and heartache for you, and that I can relate to how you feel.

I was not invited to my any type of gathering for the birth of my 1 yr old nephew, and I have been shunned and avoided entirely by them. My father was not even allowed to go to my brother's wedding because he is DA.

Truly sickening creatures the JW's can be.

Best wishes to you friend. I will be a listening ear should you ever need someone to talk to.

Watchtower double-speak at it's finest.

You specifically showed her the information from the Organization's OWN website stating that:

"Those who simply cease to be involved in the faith are not shunned."

Now if I were you, I would make this point.

A person who is disfellowshipped is tried by a judicial committee and deemed a danger to the flock. Whereas a person who has disassociated themselves VOLUNTARILY CHOOSES to CEASE being INVOLVED in the FAITH (religion); you were not kicked out, you left of your own accord.

You ceased to be involved in the faith, not because you turned your back on God, but because you had disagreements with men.

You'll note on the 8th topic that they specifically state

Do you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved?
No. Many millions who have lived in centuries past and who were not Jehovah's Witnesses will come back in a resurrection and have an opportunity for life. Many now living may yet take a stand for truth and righteousness before God's time of judgment, and they will gain salvation. Moreover, Jesus said that we should not be judging one another. Compounding this factual information taken from their own literature with the fact you werent even "formally disassociated". They are in fact not applying Bible principle because they are gossipping, slandering, and diving your family. Genuine Christian love dont you think?

Points to ponder.

Does she now not apply doctrine and practice handed down directly from Brooklyn Bethel? Or is it much easier for them to only apply their beliefs when it suits their interest?

maybe because we were the first generation of latch-key kids who learned how to raise ourselves?.

Thank you for the compliment Seeker, however that is an entirely different thread!

Actually getting an education was one amidst many of the vast reasons which slowly eroded my belief in the Tower.

I graduated high school at 16, and subsequently had a "Witness party" to celebrate such. Of course the Elders in their omniscience sought to provide life counsel as to what I should do next. My father was already DA'd and encouraged me to go to college. My mother who to this day is a Witness was at least flexible enough to let me decide for myself.

Anyway, the Elders seemingly unanimously felt compelled to quote Scripture after Scripture to me and to ceaselessly encourage me to full time pioneer and make Bethel my goal.

Now obviously if I did that, I would have had no time to pursue a college education or a job with which to make money or learn more about life to stand on my own. So I blatantly asked them to their faces:

"Is that why you have a full-time job and drive a $60,000 car in a $200,000 house with a family and you NEVER went to Bethel? Is that why you as an Elder dont pioneer now? How do you presume to tell me what I should do for my ENTIRE life and it's choices when you didn't do it yourself?"

Believe me that got them angry. Even then I was questioning the hypocrisy and double-speak. "Do as I say and not as I do" if you will.

I knew they wanted me to be their golden child and example. As a youth I unfortunately did reach out even while in school and auxiliary pioneered and read at Book Study, so they would have something to praise themselves and others about "producing" later on.

I knew then there was something seriously wrong within the "Organization", but I had not developed the proper social skills or enough diverse of a perspective to be certain I was right, hence I had not acted yet. Alas, I graduated from college with a BA in Business Administration in 1999 as 2nd in my class with a 3.97 G.P.A.

To any out there who are "lurkers" who read and dont post, or who are reading this and are on the "fence" and uncertain if they want to pursue an education or not, or are frightened of walking away from that "Organization" I implore you to follow your dreams and fight! Get an education and to live for yourself, not what some man-made articles and principles dictate you should do. If God is love is truly a God of LOVE, he will love you for you and not because a publisher card has you registered as an "active" Jehovah's Witness. Philosophy, ethics, and religion courses helped me immensely in overcoming my indoctrinated fears of abandoning God by leaving the JW. If you do sincere enough research for yourself, you will find endless discrepancies and flaws in their doctrine and history, and no "true" organization inspired by God would lie or change repeatedly.

Feel free to email me if you seek information about lies the Watchtower has repeatedly spewed from their literature. I lived as a JW for 20 years, I was "born" into it, and even now I fight the fight against them because some members of my family including my brother, sister-in-law, and inevitably my 1-yr old nephew shun me simply because I took a stand for my own beliefs, and had the courage to speak out against it.

unless you were just sneaking in to spy on your former brothers, which may or may not be the case, or perhaps in your case there is some remnant of spirituality that remains.

at any rate, jehovah has the perfect solution to the problem confronting the faith.

I think JW's have single handedly kept peppermint and butterscotch candy companies financially profitable. Every congregation meeting and Assembly I ever attended, countless people had candy, gum, or something to chew on most likely just to stay awake.

Hell, I used to sit and count how many licks on my tongue to the center of a Tootsie Pop and count the chairs in my section or the number of lights or dividers on the ceiling just to occupy the time and maintain my sanity Anyone else do this?

This is typical routine for him. When it is an issue he cannot confront or a topic in which he is clearly beaten, he miraculously vanishes or declares it unworthy of his attention. The only other option that remains is he WILL post here with some hysterical spin-tactic and smokescreen, ranting some theoretical nonsense while never truly addressing the very specific request made of him.

Surely you know this by now.
