a number of jw kids including some that "got out once they truned 18" got baptized recently.
i had no idea why.
then i recal a conversation i had with a jw teen from a distant cong that was chaffing a bit under jwism.
We have enough gung ho patriotic redblooded killing machines volunteering that we don't need to FORCE anybody to do anything.
although its quite disturbing that there are enough volunteers for the job it is also very positive for all normal humans who do not want to get killed for the interests of a corrupt government.
.
if you do, and can prove it, you could be a millionare..
what is remarkable is the fact that paranormal observations depend on the society. central europe is great when it comes to dowsing rods or energized water, britian is great for ghosts, the US for UFOs and religion...
as george carlin puts it...pick your superstition and get happy with it.

regarding stalin and hitler:
stalin indeed had already killed millions before the war started. he indeed had the plan to overrun europe (once the west had destroyed itself). but he was not a coward. he stayed in moskau even when the german army was only 50 km away. (however he was probaly paranoid...he ordered the killing of millions randomly picked people to destroy any opposition against him before it can even form).
the killings in the german concentration camps started during the war not before and intensified only as the situation for the germans got more desperate and their cities were destroyed.

satanus,
thatcher was a dangerous and radical element. of course she supported bush and advocated an war. however i don't think her voice was the reason for the US gov's decision to attack iraq. the US was already waiting for hussein to go into the trap of invading kuwait.

satanus,
It was margie who changed ghw's mind. She told him that it was no time to be going wobbley.
where did you get that story from? The US intentionally set up hussein with giving full permission to the iraqi kuwait invasion.

well i personally was shocked at the possibility that this fountain of democracy and justice in this world might be corruped after all.

back to topic.
a US soldier admitted that he was involved in removing the explosives from the site.
that somehow weakens the already rediculous claim that the russians had transported the stuff away.

tragic.
remember the neo-con jokes such as "shock and awe" and "precision bombing"?
how about the rediculous notion that you only need a couple of hundred thousand troops to control an invaded country?
simon,
i read this yesterday. i hope the estimate is too high (however the Lancet is one of the best medical journals out there). but in any case Bush, Blair and the rest of this criminal band should be imprisoned for war crimes.
