Joseph,
This is a very interesting explanation but if this is true does this mean that my subconscious mind was empty when we were playing with the board?
Ranchette
i've been told the glass moves around spelling stuff out.
my brother, before he became a dumbdub said it happened to him - but he was pretty young and probably p'd.
movies and tv play along with it.

I guess you could say I'm agnostic.
I tried the ouji board once recently with two other people.
Absolutly nothing happened.
Never have experienced anything and don't believe it ever will.I know others have had some sort of experiences but I just believe the mind is a very powerful thing.
I also mirror Seekers feelings on the matter.
I've done just about everything the society says will bring the demons into your life and the silence is deafening.

We also played with the runes and enjoyed them very much.So much in fact that I just bought a set with a book also.
I will be keeping mine.

i intend to make a post soon that will show a very unpopular viewpoint.
mostly because it will contain news you won't want to hear.. i'm predicting that regardless of the recent down turns in jw growth, this will change in the next few years and their world wide growth will increase.
i'm working on presenting the evidence now in a way it can easily be understood.. stay tuned.. skipper
Well your predictions or phrophecies probably have a a better chance of coming true than Watchtowers!
Also for those of us who have been around JW history for 30 or more years have seen this happen before.
Yes,sadly, it's unpopular but possible.
Ranchette
dear brothers,.
you might want to consider this letter in the 'questions from readers' section of the watchtower.. my question is this: i would like to join the catholic church and at the same time keep my standing and position in the congregation!
the reason being is that i have heard that the vatican has a very good and complete library which i would like to avail myself of.
Outa service,
Thanks for the entertainment this evening.
If this letter were sent for real I'm afraid you will see their double standard very clearly.
Ranchette
imagine this!
what a tempting thought.. the org, banned, witnesses hunted like rats thru the streets as they sneak around in their reverse coats and changeable hats carrying out the preaching work.
outside your house an incident, three neighbours are beating up on a witness, hitting him over the head with his own briefcase.. would you join in?
There's a few I'd like to have a go with but not because they are Jws but for personal reasons.
But seriously, my answer to your question is, absolutly not]/b].
I was just thinking how they already say that we are" beating our brothers" and persecuting them when all we are really doing is exposing the hypocricy and truth about this organization.

what changes in the society's teachings can we remember?
.
1975..blood transfusions...elder body arrangement.... .
The generation
blood fractions ok

we all know the jw view of abortion before leaving but what about now?
how have your views changed?
i used to secretly cheer when i heard that women had gained more rights concerning abortions.
Ballistic,
To answer your first question.
I never felt it was just a female issue in the first place.
Men obviously have strong feelings on this issue too and rightly so.
There are lots of male doctors who feel strongly enough about it that they are willing to risk their lives to help women to get abortions.
As for your second question I don't know the answer and for me it doesn't matter that much because there are certain circumstances that I would not hesitate getting an abortion even if the answer was as soon as the sperm and egg unite.
I feel this is a personal issue between the female and possibly the other party that they have to live with for the rest of their life and stand before God, that is if they believe in God.
I just don't think it's anyone elses busines as long as they are abiding by the laws of the land.
I think people have a right to try to change the laws if they don't like how it is in their country. They also have the right to express their feelings. But that's about it.

in the "christmas" thread, aroarer asked this:.
: ...have researched christmas in a new way and have come to realize it is not as evil as wt teaches.
the real ugliness is the wt.
Farkle,
I felt like you were retelling my childhood memories also and
my husband has shared similar stories from his childhood.
All I can say about Josephs post to you is that it was rude and condescending!
Obviously all who claimed to be witnesses didn’t live the hard-core JW life that the organization demanded of it’s members.
I found that my families claims to putting “the kingdom first” was a convienient excuse and justification for them to be cheap scapes as well as shitty neglectful parents.
They continue to use same excuse to continue to ignore my sister and I as well as their grandchildren.
I believe you will find many more ex JWs who will identify with your memories than those of Joseph.
I am happy that his life and memories weren’t as oppressive as ours or that he dealt with it like a robot instead of a person with feelings, but I do not approve of his attitude towards you. I’m sure he could care less but I wanted to say it anyway.
This will be our first Christmas.
It’s time to celebrate life instead of enduring suffocating bondage!
Never again will I allow an organization to suck all spirit and happiness from my life!

i used to secretly cheer when i heard that women had gained more rights concerning abortions.
I guess you could say I don't believe it's right to use abortion as a form of birth control instead of being responsible people.
However I do feel there is a place for abortion.
If raped,if health or life in danger and in a few other circumstances mostly regarding teenagers. There may be others.
I don't like to say I'm pro life or pro choice because each situation should stand on it's own.I hate labels!
Even when I was a hard core witness I had already made my mind up that if raped I would imediatly go to a hospital and ask for the morning after pill.

anyone have any experience with casting runes?
there's a book about it: "the book of runes," by ralph blum, that comes with a bag of 25 stones imprinted with an ancient viking symbol.. it sounds intriguing, but scary (due to the wts theology embedded in my brain).. supposedly the rune do not predict the future, nor provide specific advice, tho they are written with such wisdom that they seem to do all this.
when you analyze the messages, you see it's your own intuition that pulls what you need from the rune reading for your particular problem at the particular time.. any experience, 1st-hand knowledge, or ideas?
Patio,
Hi, I've been away from the board for a few days and just stumbled across your post on runes.
My feelings eco Zazus on this.
I view the runes as a tool to look within ourselves with the goal of understanding and improving ourselves.
I feel this can be very enlightning.
I'm new to this too.
I just bought this exact book you mention along with the runes for a Christmas gift for my daughter.
I think it will be good for her to look inside of herself.
I plan to learn more on this too.
I've played with them and even slept with the book in my headboard and believe it or not no demons revealed themselves.
I've done everything I can think of that the WT said would bring on demon posession and I have seen and heard nothing.
I no longer live with fear and superstition that WT implanted in my mind. What a releif!
Let me know what you think about the runes.
I'm going to read up on them more myself.
This book and runes are very positive.
You will run across things that have a darker side and I would rather avoid that.
