Christmas&Thanksgiving-Are you celebrating?

hi friends;.

just wondering about this subject of holidays again.

i really miss christmas but don't have enough nerve to celebrate it.

I am very excited about the holidays!!
For the first time ever, this year we have celebrated our birthdays, Valentines Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and fourth of July.
Looking forward to Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I agree that the Holidays mean different things to different people.
After what we’ve been through I’d say I’m a non- conformist, meaning that I will celebrate the way I want to.

The Holidays have NO religious meaning to me at all.
It’s just fun.

My husband told me that I couldn’t have a tree for Christmas yet. We live on a main HWY and he wants me to wait.
So I guess I’m wrong about the non-conformist idea.

I have ordered Christmas cards and labels. I bought evergreen garlands and all kinds of decorations any way.

If he (party pooper!!) sticks to the no tree idea I will decorate my Ficus tree in the living room.

What’s really neat is my youngest child is getting to attend all school parties this year!

please list how many years you were/have been a jw.

please also list how many years you have been out.

Mom started studing with me out of the Paridise Lost book when I was 2
so

In 34 counting from 2yrs old
quit going to meetings 9 months ago(does that count as out?)

to those you replied to my earlier post -thank you for your kind support.

i am looking over some of the other posts that people leave on various topics, and it seems like a bad dream all over again.

i can not believe some of the anger, harshness and hatred that lies in the replies that some of the active witnesses make to people's posted messages.

I posted a reply that I got from an active JW about my UN letter so it could be one of the responses you are refering to ,I don't know,anyway she is the one that called me "a little speck in Saten's organization".

I just wanted to point out that this was a letter I got in the mail and she said those hateful things even though I'm not disfellowshipped or disassociated so I understand what you mean about some of this being disturbing.Many of us bring experiences to this board and they as you know from your own story aren't always pretty.

I must warn you you will see everything on this board.
You will laugh,cry,scream,get angry,feel peace and happiness too.Every emotion imaginable!

You will also see all kinds of people here.We have all delt with leaving the Org in different ways.You will find friends here.

Some are born again Christian,then there's the athiest,agnostics,pagans,non religious and also some flat out NUT jobs that are irritating and entertaining!

I hope you enjoy it here.I do.

How do I get out?

i was baptised as a jw when i was about 12. i dropped out when i was about 19. i just stopped going to meetings and going in service.

it is now 20 years later.

i am interested in learning about other religions.

If you faded out 20 yrs ago I would be inclined to leave your statis the way it is for now if they aren't harrasing you.
I understand wanting to completly sever your membership but if you are DF'd or DA yourself you risk loosing your JW family and friends.
As witnesses we were taught to treat a Da'd person just like a Df'd one.
They both are viewed as spiritually dead and we are not to associate except for important family business or an emergency.
Do you want to risk this?
Remember it was the witnesses who made a big deal about memberships.
God is suposed to know hearts and I think 20 years away shows him how you feel about being a witness.
Just my thoughts though.

If it were to be found out that you even visit a church you could be imediatly DA'd for interfaith.
Be careful.

2nd and 3rd responses to my UN Letters

the second response came from a couple that were good friends in my congregation.. the response was simply my unopened letter returned to me.

remember im not df or dad so someone must have warned them not to open any thing from me.. now for the 3rd and more dramatic response!

it comes from an old time family friend on my husbands side.. i tell you, i still see the bridge burning on this one!.

Am I crazy or what!

most of you are are aware that i sent out a letter to friends and family exposing the organizations association with the un.. since that time there have been several very important developments including wtbs dissacociating themselves from the un.. because of this i felt i had to get this new information out to everyone i had writen the origional letter to.. i sent this update to out of town friends and family.i encluded a copy of the un letter announcing wt's dissacociation and the two guardian articles.. my plan met with a problem.i knew my local po had warned everyone not to read anything else from me.i knew he would do this so i even sent him a letter along with the rest to show that i stand behind what i wrote and i'm not afraid of him.. today i did the only thing i could think of,i wrote a new letter to the po.. here it is,.

dear po 10-16-01. circumstances have changed since my last letter to you and others.. i am honor bound to update you and them of these changes.

im sure that youve told everyone not to open anything from me so thats why i am writing to you only.. the information i sent earlier was accurate and true at the time but as i stated earlier things have changed.. enclosed please find an official copy of the october 11th 2001 letter announcing the termination of the wtbs association with the united nations.

King of The North Against Islam

bethel drones are out and about spreading the newest wts spin about why the deaths and destruction of september 11th are just as jehovah said it was to be.

yep a speaker in north carolina in the united states said at one the talks, that islam has "aggravated the king of the north and the wild beast".

Good question.Here's what I think.
They have a "God syndrome" their power has gone streight to their heads so the thought that they could be punished hasn't entered their minds!
They may get a big surprise someday.
I just wish the witness would think about what they claim to believe.

By their own teachings as has been pointed out before the WTBS dissociated themselves from Gods favor back in 1991 when they filled out that app with the UN.
According to their teachings Gods spirit has been absent over at least the last ten years.
Jah has not been directing this organization.

I make myself tired!
