I can't believe it! Your reading those demonized books!
That's what we thought anyway not so many months ago.
We wouldn't let the kids read them and would have had a fit if they brought one home from the school library.
Now as I write this my oldest daughter has one in her room and I'm thinking of taking both my kids to the movie.

Also I agree about the smutty book needs.
I love Joanna Lyndsey's books!

I want a Common Marmoset (pet)...

anybody know anything about "common marmosets" as pets?

they are a very small monkey - but don't really look like a monkey.

they are squirrel size and the type i want has large white tufts in thier ears.

Road rage episode

ok.. for those of you who may not know me from previous posts, all i can say is this is unusual for me and please do not judge me as a person for it.

for the other friends who know me by such, please take this into consideration when you read this.

i would like to get some feedback on this, perhaps from some of the folks from the martial arts threat joel started recently, especially if you have also read my other posts.. (hopefully a well balanced combo).

I’m not going to judge you. It’s not my place to do that any way.
I will let you know what I thought after reading your post.
First I feel you already see how unwise this was and probably won’t do it again, right?
This situation could have gotten very nasty. It also could have gone one way or the other.
What I mean is he could have turned out to be a psycho and pulled a gun and shot you or you could have been a psycho for all he knew and could have blown him away.
I hope you both realize this so nothing bad will happen in the future.
I don’t feel sorry for the guy if he was scared. That’s what he deserved for not thinking before acting like a maniac!
Just be thankful it didn’t get worse and please be more sensible in the future.

These are the books that have had the greatest impact on me so far.

First I read the Bible from cover to cover instead of the JW way.
Then I moved on to,
Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz
In Search of Christian Freedom by Ray Franz
Steven Hassen’s “Combating Cult Mind Control”
Age Of Reason by Thomas Paine
A History of God by Karen Armstrong
Releasing The Bonds by Steven Hassen

Everyone,
Now that Wt is under review by the UN, I’m wondering just exactly what callers will be told now when they call.
Will they say, yes they are a NGO but no farther info can be given at this time?
I’m hoping they will at least confirm their status at this time because of all the witnesses that may be calling in.
If anyone hears what a random caller is being told please share.
I see what Hawk was told today but they know him now.
I want to know what all the people we’ve referred to them will be told now.

Someone may have already pointed this out to you but what if you were to find out that the requirements for joining as a NGO were different back in 1991? Would that fact make you feel that it is okay that the WT is associated in any way with the UN in view of what they have always taught us about the UN?
Just think, they have cow if they find out a witness is associating with worldly people, even if they are family it’s looked down on!!

The bottom line is this; there is NO justification for what they have done!

I also wanted to tell you that I understand you wanting answers from the elders and WT on this matter however I must warn you that you will be disappointed in their response.
I’ve seen this happen over and over with other issues.
I’m not telling you not to try but you need to get info from all sides not just WT.
I’m sure you’ll do that though or you wouldn’t be here in the first place.

I GOT TWO NEW RETURN VISITS TODAY!!

i do have two new return visits but they are not from field service.. my womens club went to a local nursing home today.

we brought the elderly gifts, we sang songs with them, and we brought our pets, and listened to them.

they were so happy to see us and share some of their lifes experiences with us.. it was different to go to a nursing home with no ulterior motives like pushing jw literature.. it felt right to just give them what they wanted most.

I started this thread because I wanted to share my nice experience with yall, but I did it also for another reason.
I was taught all my life that JWs were the only people on this earth that have true love among themselves and for others.
Since I’ve been out, I'm repeatedly hit in the face with just how untrue that teaching was and really how shallow WT love is. This world is nothing like I was taught.
With the recent WTC tragedy we all have seen the worst and the best of what the world of man has to offer.
I am sad that this has happened and we have more to face yet but after what I’ve seen and experienced, I have to say I’m proud to be a part of this world. I believe Goodness will always out way evil.

Yes,it went out monday.She lives in the next state over from me and it usually takes four days to get there.
I think they still use the Pony Express down here!
I also sent a version of it out to just about every witness I know. I know the ones in town have there's already.I'm waiting for somthing to happen.
I'll keep yall informed.
