Glander thanks for the history! My parents moved into that KH in 1965. In the late 1990s we completely gutted and renovated the building. I did the tile work in the foyer and bathrooms, glass block and interior plaster. PITA. The upstairs library is now a 3rd school with the second school built in the back behind glass on the first floor. There is now 3 upper rooms. Aside from the 3rd school/library there is a large storage room for all the secret files and a meeting room for Elders to help the pedophiles escape prosecution...

The allegations are set forth in the press release. It involves multiple counts(I would venture to say at least 12)
You mentioned; 'Would it help if a one-page OpEd was sent to LA Times reporters and editors that outlined how the WTBTS protects pedophiles and victimizes the molestation victims to protect the image of the Watchtower and using Micheal J. Norris as a local example."
I have generated brief synopsis and forwarded to mainstream media. I live in Los Angeles and have contacted all major media. I must say that for each step of progress more of these agencies are becoming more interested in the story. I intend as you suggest on puting together a more comprehensive editorial including Watchtower Policy and the famous Letter to BOE for these outlets to consider. One thing I must be cognisant of is how or what is said or alleged would be spun or used negatively by the defense. Frankly I am fully aware that they are monitoring this Board and my Facebook(which is private) I have had sit downs with the prosecution and they throw printouts of Facebook and other social media belonging to me on the table and say "nothing is private to us" CRAZY STUFF. Honestly, our attorneys and the DA would be extremely happy if I sat back and said NOTHING. However it is not in my nature.
To make it clear, many main stream editors have communicated extensively with me about this case. Perhaps they are waiting for it to develope further before they pull their own triggers.

Child Molester Surrenders at LAX

Alleged Child Molester in Custody: Michael Norris Surrenders at LAX
When 67 year old Michael Norris landed at the Los Angeles International Airport on a direct flight from Costa Rica late last night, he knew Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Detectives were waiting for him.
Sheriff's Investigators, along with FBI and United States Customs agents, boarded the plane and took Norris into custody. Norris, who had a warrant for his arrest in Santa Barbara County on multiple counts of child molestation charges surrendered to authorities without incident. Norris was transported to the Santa Barbara County jail where he was booked and is being held on $200,000 bail.
The arrest was a coordinated effort between investigators from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Felony Fugitives and Criminal Investigative Divisions and United States officials in Costa Rica who assisted in monitoring Norris' whereabouts and ensuring he boarded the plane.
The arrest follows an investigation that began in February of 2012 involving allegations that Norris had sexually abused a minor over the course of several years during the time he lived in Carpinteria. Norris moved to the farm town of Quepos, Costa Rica in 2006. A warrant was issued for his arrest in December of 2012. When Norris learned of the warrant he agreed to return to Santa Barbara County and negotiated his surrender with Sheriff's investigators.
Norris is charged with multiple counts of child molestation including but not limited to continual sexual abuse of a minor, contact with a minor with the intent to commit sexual abuse, distributing and producing pornography to a child and aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 years of age.
An arraignment date has not been set.

I was informed that FBI Agents apprehended Norris at the airport in Costa Rica. He was flown "in custody" to Los Angeles International and Santa Barbara Officers took him "into custody" and he was placed in Santa Barbara County Jail, the County where the crimes occured when Norris was an Elder in the Carpinteria Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I am not absolutely certain on details but negotiations for his surrender had failed. Santa Barbara law enforcement made it clear however that "either you come willfully, or we are coming to get you"
Bail of $250,000.00 was not reduced as part of the negotiation. I do not know if there were any successful negotiations for surrender made.
I do know that Norris appeared at the airport in Costa Rica and FBI Agents took him into custody.
Under the constituents of International Travel, anyone attempting to travel while a Felony Fugitive will not clear customs and will be detained.
I am certain from media sources in Costa Rica that the Costa Rican Embassy had little or nothing to do with this apprehension and extradition.
I give this one to the FBI and US law enforcement as there were never court proceeding in Costa Rica for the extradition of Norris.
