atrapado's story parte dos
by atrapado inwe met after the meeting which i found strange i figured if i was to be named it would be before the meeting.
they read me the letter from the wt.
it basically said that they were happy about my recommendation but they couldnt accept the recommendation of a 16 year old that i should wait until i was at least 17. of course i was not 16. the problem is that in spanish you write the day first the month after.

WOW!,atrapado, you sure put up with a lot of nonsense.Of course, I understand how it was to be under their heavy hand. Also, being a female, I never had "reach for greater resposibility; althought some sisters could put you down for not going out in service enough. I was df'd when I was young, in the early sixties, and when I asked, after a year of going to meetings, sitting in the back, and being shunned, when they were going to consider reinstateing me, the young elder, my friend, told me that Jehovah may have already forgiven me, but they had not. I was too scared of dying in the big A to argue. I am so happy for you that you got an education and are on the right path. You sound like a very intelligent young man. I enjoyed your story and look forward to hearing more from you. Too bad your dad does not understand what you have accomplished and how valuable your education is. Maybe some day he will.

It makes me sad to say, No. I don't think He answers any prayers; unless the answer is always NO.

Do y'all celebrate Christmas in the same way every year?
by panhandlegirl inlike me, most of you never celebrated christmas when you were growing up or when you were raising your children.
because of this, i don't place a great importance on celebrating christmas.
i do love the holidays because everyone seems so happy and i like the hustle and bustle of it all.

Greetings! From an Existent JW!
by Ethos ini'd like extend a greeting to all members of jwn.
i've been a lurking by-stander of this forum for approximately 6 months.
i think this forum's best moments can be attributed to the involvement of actual jw's in doctrinaire discussions and to heated (though not always dialectic) debates.

Im currently completing a PA program and have acquired a great deal of hematalogical dynamics.
Ethos, this will make it imperative for you to decide what you believe about the blood issue. As a PA, you will likely, at one time or another, have to order blood/blood products for your patient. Medical emergencies don't give you time to decide what you believe. The decision has to be made prior to facing the emergency. It is difficult to make this decision when you have doubts. A nurse may call you at 0200 and awaken you with bad lab results and/or tell you your patient is bleeding out and his/her blood pressure is falling. You are on call for the MD. What are your orders? The decision is yours to make.

Although I have to confess that some of my thinking is quite shallow, actually.
Vidiot, as I said, I went back and read some of your posts and I did not find them shallow at all. I agree the there must be a brain drain in the writing dept. I remember when I used to read the wt, the writing was better that it is now. I guess the "thinking ones" do leave, because once you think for yourself, it's difficult to buy what they're selling.
