The Anointed Remnant:- Are They Really Anointed?

this has been something that has been in the back of my mind for quite a while.

are those claiming to be of the anointed amongst jehovah's witnesses really going to heaven?

many jw' view them as being on a higher spiritual plain than the average jw and that they view the bible as a personal letter to them.

My great-grandfather was "annointed" as was his wife. She became an "evil-slave."

He was a cold, uncaring bastard. He had no interest in anything except preaching. He encouraged us, his family, to shun his wife, because she had "given up Jehovah."

She, my old great-grandmother came to the few family gatherings she was allowed to attend and had to sit by herself in a corner. Because we were children, being called an "evil-slave" did not encourage us to go up and talk to her or get to know her.

When she died, my great-grandfather did not come to her funeral. His son, who never became a JW did, all the great-grandkids, and grand-daughters. That was it. Not one JW came.

This is no way to treat someone you were married to for over 60 years. Which begs the question: Why did an annointed person remain married to an evil-slave? My mother cannot answer. Her response was he was being nice because people of that generation did not divorce.

Crap. If your spiritual prinipals are so important how could you lay in bed with that person.

This made me realize he was a cold hearted bum who needed someone to cook and clean for him.

I do not think he is in heaven. If there is a hell, he is in it!

The Death ethics of JW's

a piece i wrote for the paper which never got in.. the death ethics i had as a jehovahs witness, and an apology.. it was just recently i realized that i had never grieved a very close childhood friend.

we spent many an hour playing together when i was young.

i grew to love this boy as my friend, just a few years younger then myself.

I am so sorry for your loss and delayed grief.

What you wrote is true. My great-grandmother was once an annointed. She became an "evil-slave." She was not given a decent burial. No one showed up except a few family members. Her husband, an annointed in good standing, did not come. We were told it was better she was dead.

OUTLAW-in my haste to type my message, I meant that she gives me the same answers my mother does. Verbatim. They must recite these responses during the Tuesday nite book study!

I doubt she is my mother. My Mom would have figured out by now who I am and would be calling screaming at me. However, being a good JW, she will not visit APOSTATE sites. Then again, my mother thinks demons and Satan can come through e-mail.....

Perhaps Sexy Teen forgot she is hanging with the "bad associations" that are going to "spoil her useful habits!"

are just naive, child-like people willing to believe most anything.

their leadership tells them.. however, watchtower leadership is genuinely evil.. why?

just lately i seem to be encountering the occasional jw partaking of a bevvy or two in my local pub.

so, i was wondering, what would i do if a dub came in for a pint of lunch and then, after noticing me, activated his implanted shun-the-apostate chip?

actually, i know exactly what i would do, i would tell him to eff off and use a different pub.. so it was, that on tuesday night, around about 9.

AJaxMan, I am not shoving this down her/his throat. It came to this board to learn. I have been very conservative in my posts. I never did a "Hi I'm new." post. I did not realize I should.

I am finally getting my sealegs in this forum. If I want to make my point, loud and clear, to someone who sounds suspiciously like my mother, I will. I get exactly the same answers from her that Sexy Teen gave. Strange how a mind control organization will do that!

On the other hand, she/he never answered about the pioneering issue. Why not pioneer Sexy Teen?

AMarie & NameWithheld, Thank you. You both clarified my points.

Let me further.

1. When my mother joined the dubs, I was 5 years old. I was in kindergarten. I was in a public school in Chicago. It was 1967. There were no other JW kids at the school. The neighborhood was overwhelmlingly catholic. We (my 8 yr.old sister and I) had no friends. I went to that school from kindergarten thru 4th grade. Then we moved to the suburbs. However, having no friends during that time period WAS BAD. Not healthy. I was not allowed to play at recess or eat with anyone at lunch. Go talk to a psychologist on how interaction helps children, Sexy Teen. Perhaps you will understand.

2. Women in subjection. This credo applies to the woman of the taliban and the more fundamentalist Islamic religions. Why? Because women are smart, strong and could take men down. How to keep them down? Tell them scripture. Tell them it is gospel. Take this attitude to the workplace with you. See how far you get. Every employer will love having the worker who will do anything for any man, because she is in "subjection." Let them walk over you. You do it at the KH, so you may as well follow up at work. Assuming you use that college dipolma for something. Why are you going to college and not pioneering?

3. College. I grew up when we were told education was a waste of time. Armageddon was coming. Since this was the 5th or 6th prediction, I should have been suspicious. However, being young and hopeful, I thought, what the hell? Why study school work? I can preach and be in PARADISE!!! Yeah!! I was soon going to be froliking with the wild animals! Who needed to learn algebra? Big mistake. It took me 16 years to earn my bachelors degree. I blame the witnesses for pushing that mentality on myself and countless others. I had to take remedial math to go to college. The brother who helped me study for my baptizism, advised that I take Home Economics and Typing. This way I could keep a good home and work as a secretary, if need be! Great advice from an elder. Great advice from someone I trusted who was helping guide my life.

4. Armageddon. Read the thread called " A Down Side to Hope" posted by Audrey. Enough said.

5. My father being DF'd for smoking. Yes, the DF'ing was the straw that broke the camels back. He put up with alot from the dubs. They invaded every part of the personal life my parents had. No more oral sex. Yes, thats right. My father recently told me that when they no longer could do anything but missionary position, he really started thinking they were crazy. Why did they invade their bedroom? This led to the eventual breakup of my family. You can believe all you want that smoking was the catalyst. No, my father being cut off from everyone was. I was 11. I was told I could not speak to my father. Is this normal? Is this healthy? NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! They are directly responsible for that. Would a catholic priest or a episcopalian minister tell a family not to talk to someone because they had broken a silly "law?" This is what enrages me. In case you had not figured it out.

There is so much hate and anger against the JW's because we have all been hurt, in various ways, by the dubs.

Personally, they destroyed my family. The DF'ing for smoking proved to be the catalist the drove my father from the home. This sent our family on a downward spiral. I attribute my parents breaking up directly to my mother becoming a JW.

She became a judgemental shrew. No laughter. Only, "what is someone doing wrong." "What can we get someone on?" She and all JW's seem more concerned with what rule someone has broken than in helping people. Period.

I decided to edit and add a few more things that really messed up my childhood....

1. As a 5 year old, my "worldly friends" suddenly became "bad associations"-this is ridiculous.

2. "Women, be in subjection" SAYS WHO? Some old man in Brooklyn?! Why should I be in subjection to anyone? Because some mythical book (the bible) has one passage about it? They have all kinds of passages about slavery-why don't we still do that? These ideas kinds mess up a gals psyche, don't you think?

3. Education-They may say you can go to college, however the bottom line is that in the 60's and 70's when I was in grade and high school, I was told armageddon was coming-who needs education?! PREACH!! SAVE YOURSELF SISTER!! My education has allowed to question and think.

4. Amageddon-BIG FAT FUCXXING LIE. Got it? Learn it. It is not coming. God (if there is one) is not going to save every JW and kill every other person on earth. It was a mushroom induced fantasy of the guy who wrote Revelations. This also kinda messes up the mind of a teenager hoping for perfection. Don't you agree?

I could go on and on. However, I will let others make their points.

I Went in Field Service Yesterday!!

i must say i thoroughly enjoyed doing streetwork for the first time in my life!!.

it was really cold here in chicago yesterday,snow clouds looming in the sky.

about 10 am i decided to run home for my cofee break.. as i rushed down the main street,walking quickly,i saw 2 groups of jw's w/ their mags on the main street near home.. i haven't seen any around my territory since last spring.. humph i thought.. i double-timed it home,bundled up,grabbed my stacks of silentlambs posters and ran back to the main street.. i stood on the corner,several feet ahead of them and started saying hi to passers by.

We went to the North Unit, which was on Elston. I don't know why we did not go to Wicker Park. It was about the same distance. We lived there in until 1972. Then we moved to Wood Dale. Went to Bensenville Cong, which changed to Addison, when they built a new KH in about 1976.
