What to say to WT Publishers
by Anna Marina inon bbc radio this morning there was a 20 minute piece on jws and the child abuse cover up.
i am already receiving reaction to it from a number of sources.
it occurred to me - if you were giving ordinary members of the public a steer on how to deal with wt publishers what would you advise?.

Same thing with the body of Jesus. JW deny the ressurection of Jesus as pr John 10:17-18, Acts 13:35. The JW Jesus was created 3 times. The biblical Jesus took back his fresh flesh as a sign. But Christian bodies rot when they die and 1 Corinthians 15 does not teach the ressurection of their flesh.

My favourite verse about dead people hanging out is Isaiah 14:9 about how the king's descend woke up the dead in Sheol

John 5:28,29.
by Lost in the fog inwe used to use this scripture to show that there was going to be a future resurrection.
but recently i got to thinking about it.
if the apostle paul was right in saying that the righteous on death would be changed in the twinkling of an eye from earthly life to heavenly glory why would there be a future resurrection needed for the righteous?

Vanderhoven7, yes that is a curious doctrine. Jesus had not yet become sacrifice, so the old testament sanctified could not go to heaven 😁. I dont know if this was justified by the feeeling the jw victim must have judging the often quite unchristian deeds of the old testament barbarian saints. Nevertheless loved because of election ☺️

Ressurection of Lazarus in John 11 seems to be mortal ressurection. No implication that the ones raised in old testament or by Jesus in the old covenant last days lived forever. Then immmortal change in 1 Corinthians 15:52-53. Probably it is implied that people are raised mortal in Hades (Daniel 12:2, Revelation 20:12) and then changed into immortality. Love your name and cute profile pic, btw

Never ceases to amaze how people believe the Bible can address topics and realms completely unknown to the biblical authors -

I had various Russell and Rutherford books. Especially Rutherford had a sort of charismatic vibe that made many of his books entertaining reading. But I threw it all out, including a superrare publication from a Russellite movement that tried to establishment itself in my country after the divorce from Rutherford. But do I miss any of it? No cant say

I may have finally figured out why some today think we are responsible for what others did centuries ago....it's in the bible
by StoneWall inwe all know how adam and eve are supposedly responsible for selling all of mankind into sin and thus becoming "slaves to sin".so what they did (if it's not a fairy tale) affected all of the humans that would come after them.then at exodus 34:7 it goes on to show the sins of the father being passed down to the third and fourth generations7 "keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.
" (asv)even though i no longer look to the bible or regard it as i once did, i'm just trying to figure where some in today's world can even get the idea others are responsible for things that were done before they were born.
only religion can make people feel guilty for things they never did/done or were a part of and then make others feel as if they're entitled to something..

I think this explains it well:
" The sins of the fathers are punished in the children through becoming the sins of the children.
I the Lord...visit the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.” (Exodus 20:5; cf. Numbers 14:18)"
Wicked people sadly often have wicked children continuing in their path
