  in a previous thread discussing the rich man and lazarus parable in luke, the relationship of this parable to the lazarus resurrection story arose.

  as i said in that thread i'm pretty convinced that the writer of john fleshed out this character in the rich man& lazarus parable into a narrative featuring a man named lazarus.

  the name proud boys was brought up during the pre-election debate.. trump caught quite a bit of flack for refusing to condemn the group.. well, i just discovered a youtube vid examining a so-called racist incident between a proud boys member and antifa.. and the pb guy is married to a black woman and has a mixed-race daughter.. and, apparently, people of color can join and have joined the group.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hysfylmv1wi.

  It makes sense to connect the story with the judgment upon the old covenant nation AD 33-70, the rich man being blessed by his inheritance but not bearing fruits (the bad part of Israel of old) and the humble poor man being poor in every way but given favor through the blessings of the new covenant (the true believers made of jews and gentiles). Abraham is a symbolic figure, the father of the faithful and the covenant. He is a person speaking but he is also a place; his bosom / side is a blessed place. It becomes ridiculous to consider that place his literal side/bosom. It would be painful for the old man if all the rightious would sit in his lap. Talk about the dead can easily be symbolic in the Bible. Ezekiel 37 valley of the dry bones is an example. Most Preterists (even Gentry and Demar) would even agree that the resurrection and judgment in Daniel 12:2 refers to the first century judgment upon the old covenant nation starting with the ministry of Jesus.

  We have a tradition for micro cars in Europe. I try to balance between that and the US V8 gas guzzlers that you Americans use to drive to the backery, looking for a Volvo currently ☺️

  My point is simply that the language that reminds us modern readers of the globe with all its continents and countries, did not mean quite the same to the original readers. The whole earth / land was the then known earth, as evidenced by several quotes in this thread. We all know they were not taught the globe in school. You on the other hand argue that more is implied, which of course is a futurist interpretation. It would take 1,600-1,700 years before the gospel reached Australia, but the Godman foresaw that. Even I can not avoid taking a futurist spin on a few verses

  i find it very disturbing that media outlets as well as facebook, instagram, google and others decide that a point of view is not acceptable simply because they don’t share an opinion.

  perhaps it is at least right now but i think it’s very wrong.

  The liberal internationalists are drunk with power and they have deceived the whole earth. They know a serious threath to their power, especially in Europe, is not likely to happen anytime soon.   when i say; “socialist” i don’t mean everyone is equal.

  instead i am referring to “leaders” being rich and powerful, whereas the ordinary citizen being poor, and powerless.. i was surprise that the majority of the world is run by socialist government.

  the last few countries that are not socialist are the united states and parts of europe.

  I think the fall of the western world definetly goes through socialism. It is the opium for the masses produced by the rich, their snare and racket, and the masses suck it up.
