i absolutely had no idea such a policy existed until years later.
it really only hit home when reading the horrendous stories on the internet around 2002. .
Just browsed through this link regarding the never ending questions asked prior to qualifying for baptism and can't see any reference to disfellowshipping, disassociation or shunning.

It's interesting that many of us for the most part were unaware of the policy of shunning or at least the significance of what would happen if you chose to leave officially. I don't recall it being discussed in the live forever book. I also don't recall being asked about the shunning policy during my '30'' or so questions for baptism.

Then there was the question about the woman raped in the field. Jackson said they did not have the answer and would like to ask Jesus in the future.

So lets get this right. Given that Jackson was under oath to speak the truth , the whole truth and nothing but the truth under God; either he was lying about their own (ie GB) fundamental teaching or he cares little about this teaching!!!

eventually when i become a parent i became consumed with negativity, doubt (blood issue) & depression.
The following video by critical thinking pretty much sum's up why many JW's end up with depression. In many cases, people simply burn out. The lady you mentioned Jambon, hits the nail on the head imo

This 'apostate' forum would quickly fade away if the Watchtower organisation normalised itself as a Christian faith group. This would involve major reform to many of its controversial teachings, practices and rules.
