as i get older, i find myself enjoying the big band sound even more than i ever did, as well as the movies and radio programs of the era.
for some reason, the appeal to that era stops about mid ww2.

Hey there LB.
So you live in th Butte Falls area. Ben through there I think as a child. I live in SW Idaho and I guess the weather is as good as one can find when one looks at the year round averages.
If I am right Maui is the island Honolulu is on. I went there once and was dissapointed with what I saw. I was expecting the lush green shown in all the brochures and ads and found it to look a lot like dusty warm So Calif. Only one spot on the island was green and with running water. Had a lot of fun there anyway with all the different things to go see.
I am told some of the other islands do live up to the brochures and are beautiful.

Yes the Grants Pass area is very pretty in the spring and summer. I sure got tired of the constant rain or drizzle and dampness in the winter though. I lived in that area when I was @ five to nine yrs old then we moved to Portland. My parents moved all over up and down the west coast. But I always managed to find them.
Went to school in the old roosvelt school. It was so large I marveled at it as a child. Now it is an office building and really quite small. Ones perspective sure changes from child to adult.

Well Dakota Ken Lark I got ya beat a little.
I was born in 1935 started school in Grants Pass Oregon. I love to go explore the old mining towns in the west. I get the strongest feelings of longing when I am there. Like another said IF there is reincarnation I think I was at one time alive in the 1800's. I am attracted to the old machinery and like to look at it and find out how it worked. I know I would have fitted right in that time period. Six gun and all.
However I recognize the advantage of todays medical system and travel etc. and am torn between the two. Realisticly I know today is a better time for life. But I seem to yearn for the past.
It makes traveling to the old mining towns and sites all the more pleasurable for me.

Goodbye Everyone.

here's where were going, its a portuguese territory a few hundred miles off the coast of west africa:.
tomorrow morning we head for cardiff airport, it's a slight worry as the severn bridge is closed today because of high winds, if it stays closed we have an extra 100 miles to drive around via the m50.. see ya in about a week!.

Eldersystem an error ?

inn a tread down i see a very intrestring debatt about who this system was put in charge, and that it was r,f who was the creator.. i have very clear memory of when this system come and who we handel it.. we have to sitt and was sopposed to tell each other what was our good points, and what wrong we have, some brothers was wery hurt by this examination .. my expirense is that this is not a good system you dont have to read long on this site to find that terribel abuse have been done in the name of elder system.. perhaps this man who put this sytem in charge, was not from jehova, i think the issu is very well described of the sign down on this site.. it could bee intresting to hear what you here think of this, is the elder system an erreor?.
and what responsibility they have the creator or the creators?.

Thanks to all who commented on my reply.
When I think of the establishing of the elder arrangement and all the authority given to them and the wbts efforts to insulate the corporation from the elders actions as concerns any liability and then ponder over the instructions "secret" to the elders and the ever tightening of the noose of demands and punishments for things non of their business to ensure that people refuse blood,political cards,etc. and this results in the loss of lives "needlessly" it becomes harder and harder for me to accept that it was only a foolish mistake.
What I see is a concerted effort over the years. This did not happen overnight and the deaths,grief, and damage to thousands were absolutly known to them.For them continue in this course in spite of this knowledge tells me that this was planed and executed over a period of time. This would make it a well formed program desired to achieve the results we all have seen.
Again I still can not fathom what the motives are. I think that all of us agree that THE RESULTS ARE EVIL. This makes me believe it was an evil plan from the start planed by evil people
They have the means-the ability-the opportunity. What is the motive?

When we speak of mistakes, we are usually refering to something done, that results in a reaction that we did not expect. In regards the establishment of the elder arrangement. I do not look on it as a mistake. I believe it was a well thought out program put in place with full knowledge of the results it would produce.
The more I read about and learn about the wbts the more I am convinced that most of the things we may look at as mistakes, are not. I am coming to believe that these things were instituted by the wbts on purpose, to create the control over people and their actions and thoughts that we see are the results.
When I apply this same conviction to other demands made upon its members by the wbts, such as the blood issue, the political card issue in Africa, alternative service, etc. and ponder the results of that control on the members, death, severe grief, loss of lifes opportunities, self shame, I see the wbts as an evil organization.
The question I can not answer is why does the wbts want these demands? What is the reasoning behind causing all this death, grief, etc.? What is the payoff for the wbts? The reoccuring thoughts I have when I ask this question is EVIL-SATANIC-PSYCHOPATHIC-CULT SACRIFICES. It is frightening to wonder if these may be the motivation behind these demands from the wbts.
I see it as unredeemable and not worth restructuring or changing in any way. To me the only answer to my dilemma is to see it destroyed or reduced in size influence and power to where it is no longer a viable influence on mankind.
