Although I am an atheist I do see how religion kept people in line a bit morally. Not everyone needs a religion to be a good person but some do. A set of good principals helps with development. No not cult rule but good basic moral compass. Today I see so many who have no moral compass at all. They think they do but there is a void. The problem with voids is they want to be filled and if its liberalism, communism and socialism we are Fed.

one of my tennis friends who happens also to be a nurse, told me today that he is concerned about my mental health because i support donald trump.

i believe he got shafted but i also recognize that very little will probably change regarding his being re-elected.

this man voted for the “green” candidate and said he personally agrees with most of trump’s views but he thinks he’s morally corrupt.

How much do Elders actually get along with each other?

i was reading in the shepherding book that elders should “ cultivate and maintain friendships with one another.”, and thought to myself “bulls$it!” i remember that most of the elders in my old congregation were nothing but nasty asses.

i know it may vary from congregation to congregation, but do elders generally get along with each other behind closed doors in elders meetings?

or, are they often in conflict with each other?

I have seen elders move to other congregations because they did not get along with other elders. I have also seen clicks that were very tight and let no one else in.
