I thought of myself as an artist when I was young, haven't done anything in decades. Kinda afraid to pick up a pencil and try, hate to destroy my illusion.

titch...sorry didn't renew it. Wife has a handheld radio at work to listen in if needed in an emergency. Preppers are folks convinced society is about to collapse and they prepare (prep) by hoarding guns, ammo and food. They might also booby-trap their property, at least these did.

An interesting Observation of some Bibles
by Blotty infirst of all, hi, i go by blotty on this website :) i am someone who has a passion for the bible and like to get a as balanced view as i can from the trinitarian and the jw (or unitarian) side - even though i come off as leaning towards one or the other at times, in my opinion they both have merits in certain cases..if this is in the wrong section i apologise - this is just something i found interesting.iv seen online a lot that say the watchtower and tract society "invented" the link between proverbs 8:22 - 30 and jesus (the word).
yet interestingly some "mainstream" "trinitarian- aimed" translations are cross referencing the following:source:https://www.biblegateway.comprov 8:22 cr rev 3:14niv, gnt, esv, nasb, nasb1995, nasbre, cevprov 8:30 cr john 1:1,2 esv nasbprov 8:30 cr john 1:3esvnasb1995nasb(this list is by no means complete)if this is simply wisdom, why is it referenced with jesus (or the word)?.

Wisdom as an hypostasis of God was a flourishing concept in late Judaism and early Christianity. In recent comments I've mentioned how similar concepts such as the "Logos" certainly inspired a formal Trinitarian doctrine in later years.

Is the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses REALLY the "faithful and discreet slave" of Matt. 24:45-47?
by Roger Kirkpatrick inthesis: when someone who is given a responsibility mistakes that responsibility for authority, bullying is very likely to occur.. jesus spoke an illustration recorded at matthew 24: 45-51 which well illustrates this thesis.. jesus asked, “who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over all his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so.
truly i say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings.

Fisherman,,once that has been pounded into your head its hard to unlearn.
However, the author of Matt (and Luke using Matt) utilizes the very popular parable of Israel being God's vineyard/field/household. (eg Isaiah chapts. 5 & 27, Ps 80) Though a series of parables, the author draws lessons utilizing this imagery. In Matt 21 Jesus says 2 parables, (21:28-46) the 2 sons in the vineyard and the tenants in the field in which the Jewish religious leaders appointed by God centuries previous are the target. THEY were the author's disloyal, faithless, workers/servants/sons. There is nothing to suggest the parallel parables in Matt 24 and 25 refer to anyone else. THEY, that is the Jewish religious leaders, failed to recognize the son's/master's arrival and were found sleeping, lazy, corrupt etc.
Its key to remember the authors' of the Gospels did not have a 2000 year disappointment in mind. They intended the "delay" to refer to the long period of anticipation of Yahweh's return by his Messiah. For them all the events referred to in the parables, judging of religious leaders, the signs, the revealing of the Messiah's power etc. were to happen in their generation not in the distant future.
It was centuries (and possibly an edit or two) later that the parables seem take on new meaning wherein the delay wasn't the wait for the arrival of the Messiah it was the 2000 years of disappointment that followed. The harvest wasn't imminent, it was thousands of years later. The parables lent easily to that misapplication that as long as you disregard the specific application of the parables to the Jewish leaders and the imminent judgement expressed in the same context.

titch..I and my wife are hammies, or long time ago were. The local club got over run with seriously scary preppers. I guess the leader is in prison now. I have a friend who has a huge setup always trying to get me to get involved again. It just never clicked with me, it was the novelty of getting the license. He builds radios like many do in the hobby, great guy.

Evans and Erhman have had a number of debates, honestly rather humorous. They seem to be friends arguing about semantics.

I love foraging, especially for mushrooms.
I had some soil trucked in to fit in low areas in lot next to the house couple years ago. Crazy, I picked couple pounds of Morels from the middle of the lawn last year. This year only a few. I guess that's normal. I imagine the soil was from a woods.
I really enjoy cooking
My wife works hard so the least I can do is cook some of the time. Most everything winds up being a 1 frying pan stir fry/concoction. She loves baking.

My wife reads off crosswords when we are driving to keep me awake. I beat a rubix cube once after cheating and reading a book. Could never repeat it without the book.
