to permit the end of the awake magazine?.
it is a financially difficult thing for a religion the size of the "truth" to publish one - much less two .
Also, they will never put the OKM in the Watchtower as the OKM is specific to the country or geographic location that it is being used in. It would mean printing different WT's for every country and that is significantly more costly considering the logistics of it.
It already is.
we all have different talents etc and as ive never been a witness just read their books why is it that we have 3 kids and our youngest has a gifted mathmatical mind (teacher says hes in the top %2 of the population at 5 years old ) .
would the jw then say this is from satan ?
and if not then why could he not use it to his greater good , my question isnt about jw doctrine , i just think about this when jw come to visit me as its got to be from somewhere ??
how would a gifted guitar player etc help in the org ?
They don't, any artistic expression is not encouraged.
Think of the Luddites and you get some idea of the GB and their WTS.
From what I've seen, it's an awfully discouraging life being a Witness and a musician.
i thought it might be nice to see some positive things mentioned about jw's.
now, i know mentioning these things may be hard given the experiences here, but i've yet to find a group of people who don't have something positive about them.
if there weren't something positive, no one would ever join.
unfortunately, a sweet older brother or sister who is nice as hell, would probably assume god is going to kill me, all of us on this board, at armageddon.
And the sweet older brother or sister would still be the one to shun you!

IMO the question is wrong.
You can speak of individuals in an anecdotal way but "saying something good about jehovah's witnesses' calls for answers about them as a collective body i.e. "the Organisation™".
How can there be anything good about that evil empire?

I always appreciated the sincerity of a few of the older men and women in my congregation.

That would mean that the material and outlines for both the main congregation meetings are in one publication.
Just think, the Society would also get "donations" for it, something they don't get with OKM.
It'd also 'save' having to wait for the book study overseer deliver it to you!

Good point, I agree with you.
For some time I can't see the point in having the Public Edition of the Watchtower as well as the Awake, To me it doesn't make sense (yeah, okay, what in the Borg does make sense!) but really don't they duplicate each other? Put another way, aren't they pitching to the same market?
When the Awake went monthly, the R&F were told that the magazine would pitch a Bible message to 'worldly ones™' as well as having those general interest articles. Now that the Public edition will be taking on much of that role, why have two of them?
Another thing too related to that is, how will the Witnesses go presenting two similar magazines at the doors?
