  We give more to the Watchtower Society than for our local KH

  i have been doing the accounts for our local congregation now for 3 years.

  i just thought, wow our local expenses total just $500 a month, yet we have an ongoing expense each month of $600 for the kh expansion work(ie:world wide work), $60 for the traveling overseer insurance and $54 for the local kingdom hall insurance, in addition to the operating committee expense of $525.. so, our one congregation sends $714 a month plus what the publishers contribute towards the world wide work usually between $600 to $700 per month.

  in other words, we are at least sending, for our little congregation of 75 publishers, $1314 a month!

  first - if you hope to become an elder, in the uk you will also become a charitable trustee.

  you will not be given any training for this part of your role.

  Second - if you hope to become an elder, you will likely be given copious assignments and become very busy. You are expected to be yielding and accept these assignments - even if it means that you have to sacrifice time with your family

  When Lett got on stage for the first talk he wanted to thank the CO and his wife for their hard work but he did not remember their names. The translator had to remind him. Despite the fact that the presenter had just thanked "brother Con" for this speech. The man is incapable of even faking that he cares.

  Lett doesn`t appear to be "All There"..

  He seems to be a Few Fries Short of a "Happy Meal"

  It`s more likely he`s incapable of faking he`s "All There"

  A JW experience

  this is a quick experience i have recently had and i have two questions at the end.. a couple of weeks ago, the dogs were barking at the gate on saturday morning and wouldn't you know it, it was some witnesses.

  there was a father with his lovely wife and their young daughter.

  the father did all the talking as mother and daughter just dutifully smiled and watched.

  I have too much crap!! How to declutter/dehoard.....

  some areas of our home are very nice, tidy, clean.

  and other rooms are just junk and clutter and clothes and papers.... omg.

  and now that we are getting older, we realize that we face a time of transition -- and this is hard to cope with too, as we believed the lie that we would never get old, etc.

  in my former indoctrinated state, i used to yearn for a time when all the world would be jws.

  but hang on minute, let's just think about what the world would be like if everyone was a jw,.

  first of all, no higher education, so no medical advances, no scientific research, no modern day medicine, infectious disease rife, no doctors, no engineers, so no modern day comforts.
