Morpheus,
Was this the Star Wars prequels? If I can find out what congregation you are in, I might have to inform on you about the matter myself since you subjected your son to such a monstrosity of a movie! :)
the culture of jws as encouraged by the watchtower is one of informing on one another, reporting to either the elders or ones designated head.
whats the wackiest thing that someone reported on you?
im not talking about a black-and-white watchtower rule that would land you in a judicial committee, but some judgmental nonsense that someone thought they should turn you in about?.

The culture of JWs as encouraged by the Watchtower is one of informing on one another, reporting to either the elders or one’s “designated head”.
What’s the wackiest thing that someone reported on you? I’m not talking about a black-and-white Watchtower rule that would land you in a judicial committee, but some judgmental nonsense that someone thought they should turn you in about?
I remember how I had the CD called Switched on Bach. It is Bach’s music played on an early Moog synthesizer. Can you think of anything more “clean and wholesome”? I let a couple (an elder and his pioneer wife) in my congregation borrow it. Unfortunately, I mentioned the musician playing the Moog, Wendy Carlos, used to be Walter Carlos. They decided to report this matter of concern to my parents.
Another time, I went on a date, chaperoned by my friend and my date’s friend. I was 29, living on my own. This was playing by JW rules 100%. An elder and his wife saw us and still decided to report the matter to my parents.
i was paired with this older "brother" when i was a teenager.
he was very very strange.
he was a nice guy but goofy.
Wow, where to begin? The whole thing was strange looking back! And sometimes I was the cause of the strangeness!
At the door, I was trying to present the magazine about the Bible and science and what I meant to say to the householder was, "Did you know the Bible says the earth is round and has no support?" Instead what I said was, "Did you know the Bible is round and has no support?" The householder just nodded away. Clearly he had tuned me out.
Another time I was joking with a younger JW who was out with me. I turned to a random spot in the Bible, it ended up being a verse about not cutting down a tree or something. I said, "What if we used this verse in our presentation?" To my chagrin, he began his presentation at the next house and asked the householder if he could read him a scripture...then he proceeded to read exactly that random verse.
there were many addressed to me.
for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.
It's funny looking back at the gnat-straining!
A myriad of things...I'll just grab two off the top of my head:
· · Mentioning the cereal “Lucky Charms”
· When extending myself to go in midweek service after working the midnight shift, an older pioneer sister asked me about my new job and what I did, I told her I was “Associate Operator”. She proceeded to counsel me how the world likes to give fancy titles and I should essentially quit my job and pioneer.

obey.
I wonder if they are preparing for a decrease. hey can blame it on people not being obedient enough to the "Faithful Slave".
about a month ago, i had started a thread about a video the wts had released of an interview with the minister of tourism for zimbabwe.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/430330002/interview-zimbabwes-minister-tourism-jw-hq.
the video in that thread is no longer online.. the following article highlights the relgious tourism that the jehovah's witnesses have brought to africa.. african govts must prioritise tourism for economic growth: mzembi.
african governments must prioritise tourism development to stimulate economic growth and development on the continent, tourism minister walter mzembi has said.mzembi, who is also united nations world tourism organisation (unwto) chairman of the commission for africa, said tourism had long-term intangible benefits that came with enhancing destinations amid reports that zimbabwes projected 5,1% tourism growth for 2015/16 was ahead of all other economic sectors.. he advocated for the scaling up of religious tourism, telling the audience that jehovahs witnesses who thronged zimbabwe for their first international convention in the country had set a fine example which should be followed by all church organisations.. jehovahs witnesses held their international convention in harare.
first a clarification - this is not about policies on faders etc.
it is about how the borg allow policies and doctrines to fade rather than correct them and apologise for mistakes.
here are two examples of what i mean:.
let's pretend this might happen.
im not asking what it will mean for the jdubs or for the organization, but what will it mean for you---- if one day you wake up and the watchtower drops the 1914 doctrine.. (you know at some point they have to, but probably not our lifetime).
if you are disfellowshipped or disassociated and have been shunned by your parents, by your children, by you spouse or ex-husband/wife, for years or even less, will you call your relatives and ask/tell them;.
my name is jack and i'm looking for after death communications from the jehovah witness community.
an after death communication (or adc) is when a loved one sends a kind of message to this side of life after their death.
it can be a dream or smell (like perfume or roses that would be attached to them in memory) or a feeling of their presence.
If this happens, I doubt any would cite Ecclesiastes 9:5. :)
I had one strange experience, but not anything I would like to share in a public forum.
hello all, i would like to first say that i am basically questioning my faith in god.
i am not negative towards the wt at all.
so honestly i am to concerned with more ad hominem attacks towards the wt because i still love the organization and the people in it.
I would encourage you to read Combatting Cult Mind Control by former Moonie Steven Hassan. The first edition did not mention JWs, so it could not be accused of being "anti-Witness".
I'm not sure if you've read Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz. The book is frank, but kind in tone. In fact, I would not classify it as anti-JW because Ray did not hate JWs. There are some subtleties and nuances to these issues that I feel might be missing.
Personally, I do not hate Jehovah's Witnesses...that is, the individuals. Many, perhaps, all the way up to the top, are doing the best they can given their circumstances. That doesn't mean it is a healthy environment.
Whether theist or not, overcoming lingering indoctrination takes time. Some of this indoctrination can be in the form of rationalization of the beliefs and practices of the organization. Many people that come from similar high-control groups face this issue.
