Maybe the COs will no longer be in the direct employ of the Watchtower…but kind of like special pioneers. And they’ll have to live off local charity to support them.

Something Big is Coming...
by notsurewheretogo inthe annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.
"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

inactive ones going back...
by monis1 ini have quite a big group of friends who were all in the cong together when we were teens.
about 75% of them stopped going or were df'd right after high school.
it is a varied group; a couple are staunch apostates, some dont care one way or another, and another handfull are fully "worldly", but still believe it is the truth.

Peaceful activism helps three groups:
(1) Non-JWs: they need to be educated that the Watchtower movement is a cult and give them the other side of the story, rather than “nice people” the image presented to them.
(2) JWs who want answers: they see something that has troubled them deeply and they’ve tentatively taken a step outside the fence looking for answers. This phase can be temporary if they encounter the “angry, bitter apostate” that Mamma warned them about. They will bolt at the rustling of a leaf. But sometimes they encounter something that strikes the right tone and they stick around.
(3) Inactive, DFed/DAed former JWs: so many of these are not awake. Some might walk around feeling like the specter of Armageddon looms over them. Some are just as afraid of “apostates” as any JW.
I don’t think we do enough to reach out to Group #3.
Last night I was watching the show Amish: Out of Order. I couldn’t help drawing parallels. Even some ex-Amish go back for many of the same reasons…mainly getting their friends and family back, not being able to fit in on the outside.

If the Governing Body Told You They Love You All Very Much, What Would Your Reply Be?
by steve2 inin a letter in the 2013 yearbook of jehovah's witnesses, the governing body sign off with the words, "we love you all very much".
these words were later echoed by one of the governing body in an address to french jehovah's witnesses in july this year.
these words sound so marvellously compelling and heartfelt - goosebump inducing, even.. imagine the governing body wrote these words to you or expressed them to you in person- yes to you reading these very words.

Sorry...I don't swing that way.

I agree, the change would not seem to involve:
(1) 607 BC or 1914
(2) The two hope doctrine.
(3) Blood.

I feel a good starting place are these two basic questions:
(1) Did the Jews return in 537 BC?
(2) What event brings an end to the 70 years and when did that event take place?

by daniel-p inhey all, it's been a long time since i've posted anything here.
this may be of interest to some people, or not.
and i'm not sure if this has been announced in the congregations, even, because thankfully i have not attended any meetings in quite some time.

LDS.ORG OR JW.ORG LEADERS...
by ADJUSTMENTS inthe similarites between the mormons ( lds.org ) and jws ( jw.org ) are startling!!!.
here is another, both false religions have governing body's made up of predominantly white anglo men, but tout themselves as being worldwide united religions... where is the diversity???
both groups look like board members of any top fourtune 500 company.

by kneehighmiah inthe leaks from the new november watchtower are alarming.
they will disturb even longtime jws who haven't surrendered all rational thought.
it's become so cult like its scary.
