I laughed when I read that. There are a few witnesses I know who slouch across the podium and they look like they have been on a bender the night before.

when i first heard this from an elder, i started doubting their teachings.

I have to be truthful I didn't read the dialogue between Joe and Chris, but what I would like to say is that how on earth could Satan have any control over the stars in heaven? They are there by God's choosing not Satan's. The astronomers or magi looked for signs in the stars so they would also know of the prophecy of the birth of a child who would be a King of the royal house of David. These prophecies were well known and were spread by the Jews abroad. Even Herod was terrified of the news of a Child being born to become King of the Jews, but to make sure that wouldn't happen all boys 2 and under were murdered. And yes God can use whom ever he want to be an instrument to accomplish his will, and they don't have to be one of his servants he can use any one he wants anytime any where. So it may have been God who used an angel to guide those magi to Christ. orangefatcat
I did have some profound respect for some elders until they disappointed me or wouldn't listen to me when I needed some help with a problem that would affect me life. The one elder asked me how old I was and I said I was 23 and he said and you can't figure out what to do for yourself? I was taken down by at least 10 pegs as it were. My problem was of a serious nature but they didn't want to help and I thought well what the hell what are they there for. On another occasion I was hauled before a committee on false accusations and hadn't been given any notice what so ever. As I left that elders meeting I ran to the bathroom crying my eyes out, one of the pioneer girls came in and saw me crying and asked what was wrong and so I showed her a letter that they were sending to the society about me but it was all lies. As we left the washroom she said lets get the gang and go for pizza and I was in no mood to go and as we were getting ready to leave the CO who lives in that KH and who knew my very well asked me what was wrong and so Ilet him see the letter and he read and laughed and said what on earth is this all about it. I said I think so and so has had it in for me for a long time and now she has lied and I am being told I have to stop pioneering. he said give me this letter and leave it with me. So I did and ten us gang of pioneers went for pizza including the liar. She knew not to come even near me and all the other pioneers wouldn't sit with her she had to sit all alone. The next thing that happens the CO walks in to the Pizza place we all go to he and his wife sat across from me and us gals and he smiled at me and all I could do was just try not to burst into tears as the lies were so vicious and he knew it to. But he said reste tranquille Terry and so I just tried my best. Well we all left the Pizza place and unfortunately this sister liar lived in my home and so when we got home I told her in no uncertain terms that she was to call her mother and father and she had until the next day to get the hell out of my home and if she didn't she would find her things on the road. She was dumbfounded. I said you'll regret the day you ever met me. So I told her and went to bed. Next morning with much apprehension on my part I went to the KH for service as much as my heart wasn't in it but I went anyway. Just as I openned the door to the Hall the CO was walking up the stairs and I said hi and said wow you look terrible as if you hadn't had any sleep , and he said I haven't I was up all night with the elders and I want you to know this that the letter that was sent to the society has been intercepted and will not be getting to the WTS. I said how why what where how what happened. He said I knew what was in the letter was all lies, I know you Terry really well and if I know it to be lies the elders should have known it to and for them to listen to that sister and then they didn't speak to you they just made a committee and decided on their own to with out going through theocratic procedure is not right. But what was in that letter was all lies and that was the issue too. The elders didn't even ask you they just jumped all over you and didn't ask for facts or anything. Now it is all settled and you will be okay now. Well it was as if the greatest load had been lifted off of my heart and mind. That sister knew she blew it. Her parent came and got her out and she left. All the other young pioneers were delighted I was vindicated. Of course it wasn't the last time I would be hauled before a committee because of lies of others in the KH, I just can't figure out why would witnesses make up lies and then think they could get away with it. It just made me crazy and eventually affect me as to my desire to leave the organization albeit it took still several years. But at least it happened years later though. Even if I did find some good elders most were not A Hiding Place they were more like an open sore that was rubbed with salt . Ofc.
Rick thanks for showing the vid and Grace your name says it all. You are by far the dearest lady I know and have had the privilege to know. You too remind me of my dear grandma and I know my grandma is in heaven watching over me along with my grandpa and my loving husband Marco and when the day comes that you go to heaven I want you to meet my grandma the lady who made me the person I am today. Without her positive love she shower upon me and with her deep love of God I would never have known what it was to be a true and loyal Christian the way she was. I love God because she taught me to love God and she taught me to pray and all the things she taught me I cherish everyday and I thank God she was Never a Jehovah's Witness. I hated being a JW. The JWs didn't make me who I am as a person or individual it was a wonderful lady who shaped and moulded my heart and mind to have a love of God but not the JW's God, their God is too harsh and cruel. That is not the God of the Bible not the one Jesus taught us about. So Grace you are like as if I have my grandma here with me all the time guiding me and loving me and giving me wise advise and I pray that God blesses you as He so richly blesses all good people and my wonderful grandma. I know that God has a very special place in heaven for you and I am sure Grace that no matter what you'll probably have to drag some of us and love tap us to keep us on the straight and narrow so we make it too. I love you Grace. You know my favourite bible text is Numbers 6:24-26 this is how I feel about people I have great love for. love Orangefatcat

as i announced some time ago, jwd as it is will not continue .... ... but .... it's clear from people's comments that they do like the site and many would like it or something else like it to continue.. one issue was the forum software that was self-developed and not really in a good state to hand-over to anyone but i've been working on that and can now reveal the first release of what will probably be called jwn (son of jwd):.

My beloved didn't have to say a word to me all, he had to do to cause my heart to melt across a room was when he would kiss me from a distance, and it made me all warm and tingly inside my very being. I can't believe you are going back after all those years of being out. You must be a guy who doesn't know how to make up his mind. After 20 years you want to go through the motions who are you kidding. Only yourself and what a waste of time. Think about it. All that drivel and indoctrination all over again and for what just something to do? Heck at a church there are so many wonderful people and activities to keep you busy for the rest of your life. And they believe in Christ and don't make up lies and then deny them when confronted. At least they have the guts to face the people of the parishes despite their mistakes and still have people understand. Who on earth can understand what JWs are doing from one minute to the next? Well lets see this week no blood transfusions are allowed, but we will allow a liver transplant, next week, no more transplants but you can have trace amounts of blood. No next month you can't do that either. Next year its that way and this way and on and on until you don't know what way is right or left or wrong. You need two witnesses to disfellowship a sexual deviant and who the hell will ever do that is beyond me, but hey we are talking the wTS here and what they say goes, not the Bible. so then young ones are exploited by predators and they are getting away with it. Barf and you want to go back. I think you need to re examine your priorities ,please do or you shall regret that. Why waste your life on something you don't believe in rather why not do something you believe in and be a very happy person. You will be one very unhappy JW.. That is how my brain would calculate it. I would never step foot in a KH again even if you offered me all the money in the world. I couldn't conscientiously go back into a place that protects paedophiles, and liars and deceivers and hypocrites and a organization that professes to walk in the foot steps of Christ Jesus and yes here we see Jesus going over to the library at the UN's to get a book on something for the latest awake or WT magazine which is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Aren't you ashamed to re join a corrupt organization that proclaimed their their innocence when in fact they were lying to the brothers and sisters. At least churches confessed when confronted with there sins but no not the watchtower society they tried to hide it and we all know why, because they think that in the true faith this sort of thing shouldn't happen. But it has and they can't accept it and as a result they will lose faet in the eyes of every JW and ex jw around the world and even more so in the eyes of God. Your more than welcome and yes you need not fear. We have all gone through the pain of leaving the Organization and some of us have suffered more, but no one judges another and we always have a soft spot for someone new. Don't be afraid of the dark or lonely places, come out into the light and know that so many of us have shared our lives here on this board. I have been here since 2001 but left the organization in 99 it took me awhile to find this site and it is the best site . It has help me so much to get the strength to keep searching for the answers to all the questions I had and the doubts I had were well founded as I quickly learned here in JWD. so once again Welcome to the forum. and of course the gang.
