ARC is "apostate"? It can't be apostate if the ARC were never Witnesses. I wonder if news services reporting on the Russian persecution of Jehovah's Witnesses are "apostate driven lies" as well.

Circuit Overseer to Answer My Questions + Concerns...or Not
by Research inhello all, i'm 'researching', a jw who is in the first steps of taking a look at their beliefs.. i've semi-recently (about a couple weeks ago) heard about the sexual abuse cases (pennsylvania attorney general’s investigation request) and then the arc in 2015. this lead to a deep investigation, which lead to many questions arising.
a jw friend of mine suggested i be careful (due to apostates) and ask the brothers.
so i typed up my questions + concerns and emailed an elder my mother has known for a long time.

Baptized pre 25 years old
by Fadeaway1962 insaw this on the bbc and thought you should see it:is 25 the new cut-off point for adulthood?
i was baptized in my early 20s so now realize was too young mentally to understand the full impact of that decision and the long term impact on my life.. the org should stop putting pressure on young ones to get baptized..

think our issue isn't with minors getting baptized, but rather how Jehovah's Witnesses treat baptism. Baptism is supposedly an outward display of accepting the God of the Bible, His Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. Just like a wedding is nothing more than a ceremony that two people who decided to be exclusive with one another go through to publicly let everyone known "Hey, we're an item. We are no longer available for romantic relationships."
The problem is baptism in the Jehovah's Witness religion is an outward display or statement that means the individual is officially a part of that religious organization. It is not about accepting God or Jesus as your savior. I could have been baptized as a Presbyterian and then later in life become a Methodist. I wouldn't be shunned by my Presbyterian family and friends. I could even stop going to church all together and there would be no problem.

and reminding him of all the failed prophecies etc etc.

I get it. Every great once in a while I hear about something that makes me think for a brief moment that maybe everything we were basically taught was true. I mean very basic - 1)There is a Jehovah and 2) there will be an Armageddon. Then I quickly switch to - 1)Even if there is, I won't worship because I don't want to live forever on Earth with only Jehovah's Witnesses. That would be a type of Hell.
I am basically saying is I get how a PIMI may see and accept all the wrong doing of the Watchtower, but still be afraid of losing their goal of everlasting life for leaving.

BluesBrother:
This link discusses the difference between the Biblical doctrine of grace vs the Watchtower doctrine of undeserved kindness.
https://jwdoctrine.com/concept-grace-undeserved-kindness/
I saw another post where the writer states that Fred Franz came up with "undeserved kindness" because it elevated the idea in addition to promoting the idea that we are all unlovable pieces of garbage who must do more and more to earn salvation. Whereas grace is a gift given freely out of love.

Fulltimestudent makes a valid point. Some of the words we have listed may be considered a simple exercise in semantics. However, others are worthy of the list. I can think of no other that is more condemning than the term "publisher."
Publisher literally is a person who sells or distributed printed material. There is no scripture or evidence that Jesus or the first century Christian congregation printed and distributed any literature. Not even the books that would end up in the Bible. If they did, they certainly wouldn't have done it for a profit such as the Watchtower did for nearly a century until the "voluntary donation arrangement" replaced the sales price of their literature. Thus showing that Jehovah's Witnesses are and have been a business and use a business model right down to the local congregations.

In the past 2 fiscal years I have received a total of a 14% increase in pay while the average increase over that same time period was 6%. I started my current position in January of 2010 at about $50,000.00. I will probably break $100,000.00 this year.

May 2020 Watchtower They Admit, they don't know
by Listener inthey'll write pages and pages of stuff and yet they don't have any idea.. here's a paragraph from their latest speculations on future events, bolding is mine.. a prophecy recorded by ezekiel gives some insight into what may happen during the last days of the king of the north and the king of the south.
if we view the prophecies of ezekiel 38:10-23; daniel 2:43-45; 11:44–12:1; and revelation 16:13-16, 21 as speaking about the same time period and events, it appears that we can expect the following developments.. that's an awful lot of assumptions to make.
what they've done is picked out various scriptures from different parts of the bible and now state that they may or may not be talking about the same events.

This may happen.
It appears it may happen.
However, If you don't repeat this speculation as if it were fact you're disfellowshipped.

News Reports are "Apostate Lies"
by truth_b_known inwith the most recent investigative news report show entitled "the witnesses" i noticed a number of posters whose family members are pimi refer to such shows as "apostate lies.
" even the governing body (possibly loesch) made such a statement (possibly on jw broadcasting).
i was thinking of how to reply to such a statement.. first, ask "who is the apostate?

Half Banana/Vidiot:
I see your point. Notice they are not just labeled lies, but (as you point out so well) they are labeled as "apostate lies." By attaching the word "apostate" to anything, the average JW will shrink in fear. You could say to a JW "You are standing on apostate carpet" and the JW would immediate jump up and hand off the ceiling fan to avoid contact with the carpet on the floor.

I totally agree with the statement that a PIMI Witness will be like a robot and accept any programming from the Governing Body without thinking once, let alone twice.
I also mention this because of some research I have been doing over the past few months. One thing I learned is that our brain uses a "shield of lies" to protect itself from anything that would upset the apple cart in such situations. However, a challenging question from someone whom we trust can be what causes the walls to fall down and allows the brain's cognitive thought process to takeover.

Why doesn't the Watchtower have their attorneys counter-sue the alleged victims of child abuse if the victims are lying and the news agencies for liable for publishing the victims' stories? If the Watchtower has no problem publicly declaring the "Truth" that supposedly shines light on Satan's lies, why not the lie that the Watchtower tells local congregations not to report child sex abuse inside the congregations to local authorities?
