just a couple of articles back the organization was explaining how jws need to be encouraging and even when admonishing congregations jesus would start out with encouraging words.

we see none of this in the qfr, rather, it is heavy handed and legally incorrect.. why is it not permissible to post publications of jehovah’s witnesses on a personal website or on social media?.

so i'm at work and go to my vehicle parked outside the empty property i'm working at and an elderly man comes out of next door and we recognise each other from when we were elders in the same circuit.

he is early 80's in age, a jw since the 1960's and so the next generation in age up from me.. he's an outwardly jolly sort and asks how i am etc.

(knows i'm not an elder but thinks i'm pimi) and asks if i want a cup of tea so i go in and sit in his kitchen for my lunchbreak and have a chat.. i have a little fish around and ask about how jw's in his hall are.

I love reading these stories. I once had an older couple knock on my door and bring up "the world is only getting worse." I told them that just the opposite was true and rattled off of the things that are improving. Their eyes go as big as saucers.

Should private citizens be allowed to video record law enforcement?

i saw an article in the news yesterday that laws are going to be passed subjecting the police to being recorded by anyone while performing their duty or enforcing the law and encourages citizens to sue if they interfere.

some law enforcement agents become angry and confiscate recording devices from people recording them while making an arrest, etc.. it does seem that the work that the police and other government agents do is public and not private or confidential so there should be nothing to hide from the cameras.

on the other hand, how can one distinguish being shot by a camera or by a weapon until one is hit?.

As a police officer of nearly 20 years I would certainly hope that a good citizen filming me struggling to take a suspect into custody would lend a hand.

Yes.

Please keep in mind that what you record may become evidence and, if it does, your recording will be seized as such.

Also, if you are recording a police officer struggling to take a suspect into custody it would be greatly appreciated that you either use your cell phone to call for more help or put your phone away and lend a hand.

Secret sex in the Org

just spent 8 hours in a 1 day elders school last weekend.

clarification given: "moving forward any elder, ms, or pioneer who themselves or someone under their roof enrolls in higher education, may no longer qualify for privileges in the congregation.
