  Why won't JWs have "civilized" debates with home owners?

  it seems kind of crazy to go to someone's house touting your religion as truth and then not even defend your own beliefs.

  why do jws stop the chat if someone just tries to calmly reason/debate with them?

  i'm not talking about crazy preachers who start slamming bibles and yelling about how they need jesus or something.

  Yup, they are taking a calculated risk mentioning apostates. Surely they aren't so dense as to not realize that some curious ones are going to now have a peek to see what's up. On the other hand.. scare the crap out of the rest.. maybe stop some bleeding.

  It reeks of desperation. The real truth is on their heels.

  Yup, I should have quit sooner as well. That was all me. I actually believed it though. I was so miserable the last few years... what a relief it was to find out it wasn't true at all!

  Advice please - How dating works in world?

  i was born in 'the truth', homeschooled, washed windows for work, etc.. im rather ignorant of how the whole dating thing works.. .

  i'm sure i'm not the only person on here who grew up 'in the truth' and is/was a virgin in their late 20s, never been to a nightclub, etc., while everyone around them has a family/kids.

  I used to think it was kind of cowardly of us when going door to door. Solicit people... but leave promptly if they have an opinion on your subject.

  Family: Step-father had fleshly sisters long term in 'the truth'. He wasn't bright... we started going when I was thirteen. I am realizing as I type this that we were sort of duped in the sense that the family was nicer than average KH attendee... I guess that might be another thread.

  the cboe in one of the local congregations said this recently about a questionable brother who was in a car accident.

  Maybe, Running Club Yoga - I'll qualify that - not just because there's so many hotties in great shape. The whole 'My inner light greets your inner light' resonates with me even though I think all organized religion is crap. Much less chance of meeting somebody that lives to drink, etc.
