today i uploaded a new article addressing the dilemma faced by jehovahs witnesses diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (aml), and the doctors who desperately want to provide the best medical outcome.

the situation is not what jehovahs witnesses are led to believe.

Is there a reason to remain a JW other than for family?

this strikes me as an important question.

in my short time on this forum it strikes me that many contributors are quite open about keeping a foot in both camps.

some are apparently even elders, serving in positions of authority within their respective congregations.

There is no reason whatsoever that would keep me in, family, friends, money. I lost what I thought were good friends when I left, and money. What little family of mine still go I still keep it touch with and see from time to time although that wasn't always the case.

Its a difficult one and I don't envy anyone in that position now but the way I look at it, we only have one life and what a massive regret it would be if we lived it in a way that made us miserable just to please others. So sad.

Unless you have family there I'd advise you just to stop attending. If you have friends even a slow fade would end those friendships. All the best.

I had loads of so called privileges when I was there,too many, that actually takes away from spending time with your family. It was all for show looking back on it to show 'how well am I doing, eh?'

do you know of any "jw" teenagers that were very bad in morals, but later in life they become elders, elderettes, etc...?

what were they like?

what are they like today?.

I don't know about very bad, I knew folk who were...not very good and regularly did things they would now be more than happy to counsel others on if they did it.
