While that may be true Jonathon, I try to look at the context of warnings about Armageddon. To whom was Christ speaking? The Bible writers speaking, and why?

Why do Non-Christians never seem to get that I had the bible, I had religion for 25 years of my life and I never experienced the Spirit of God that way?

I have a friend who had JW religion she was raised in, then the freedom of atheism, then added in the Buddhist religion for 15 years, and she never experienced the Spirit of God in any of those ways.

Nothing made such changes in our lives, not wishful thinking, not religion, not freedom from religion, not meditation, not praying to the wrong/fake god, not a placebo. None of these things caused us to find God.

Christ. Only Christ.

have anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?

its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .

if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

My JW father's attitude toward this was that the woman had it coming because she was yelling at my brother as she was entering the house, and my sister-in-law needed to be more submissive.

Thank you for posting. This is exactly the disgusting attitude that they are teaching.

One aspect of this that disturbs me to the bone is that this article is not being studied only by adults, but by teens, preteens and children. Yes indeed, they are certainly being inculcated are they not? Directed like arrows from a bow. The girls about being set up to justify (as AnneB does) abuse and the boys are being set up to think that it's not nearly as bad a sin as all that. Hell, they may even conclude that if they'd like their future wives to be more submissive, a punch here and there would do the trick.

This may have been mentioned, but my husband says that men are being fed this crap too. They are being told that hitting their mate is not a serious offense and that how their women should behave is more important.

Even if he never hits her, this twisted idea of headship ruins marriages.

i beginning to think that this would be a good way of thinking, a totally righteous being would not let all the shit that is happenning to people prevail, this being cannot have the best interests of man as his first priority, it's all about ego and no matter how the human familty suffers, he hates pretty much everyone, as the tv show says, your fired, let's get a better god, one who at least gives everyone a chance!!.

i welcome comments from god apologists, to at least have an argument as to why they put they're faith in someone that does'nt give a shit about them!.
