Finished Mystery (1917)... The book that Jesus approved...

so a few months ago, a friend sent me an actual copy of finished mystery which was published in 1917 (not a pdf download... the actual book).

i must say, this was the most disturbing book i have ever had the displeasure of reading.

but i only read it because this was the main publication that was being distributed worldwide when jesus supposedly chose the watchtower in 1918 and i basically wanted to see for myself what jesus saw in the wt that would compel him to choose this religious corporation over all other religious denominations.. anyway, if anyone is interested in knowing the actual contents of this book, here are some bullet points i put together from some of the notes i took as i read the book:.

How interesting. It's funny how Jesus supposedly selected an apostate religion (which, by it's own qualification it is).

I have a genuine copy of The Divine Plan of The Ages which I discovered in an old book shop. It's the one with the pyramid diagrams.

I also have the blue Creation book written by Rutherford I believe which is not quite so old.

Both very stupid reading though.

I also have Life Everlasting in Freedom of The Sons of God which very clearly shows the whole 1975 teaching (Franz).

I'm serious, these guys were seriously off their trolly.

Nowadays I wouldn't go near it with a disinfected barge pole.

I know this is a WT article but the priciple applies to their other publications.

To be honest, the whole of the NWT is a really bad lesson in the use of the English language.

A lot of it used to really throw me. I think that because they have 'fudged' such a lot of it and altered it so much, when you put it all together it just doesn't read very well. In fact it reads very badly and if that is so how can you learn from it?

Their criticism of the NIV and the NEV is well known but at least these bibles actually read coherently.

WT is a cash cow for who? do the GB know they are frauds?

as i've understood it the gb has taken a vow of poverty.

on jwn they are constantly accused of guilt tripping their subjects to keep distributing there literature to make converts in order to keep growing the number of donations which is a valid point.

i ask this question in all honesty and naivety to see where the truth of the matter lies.

but jesus said the words,,,,"will be,points to the 2nd attack in about the year 70 ad.

Perhaps his eyes have been opened. He's obviously reading non prescribed literature and that's where he gets his illustrations from.

Wow, I just watched the video. I had to listen with headphones on as I would never let my kids even overhear that kind of silly nonsense.

Wow!!! He's full of it. I've never met any of these guys but I have met members of the UK bethel at funerals and so on and they all seem so detatched and vacant.

I'd probably interpret most of his 'oddness' as insincerity. They know they are bullshiting everyone and it makes them uncomfortable even if they are very accomplished at hiding it.

Simply put, They can't believe people still believe it after all this time and all those failed prophesies.

Also, don't they (GB) appear to be getting younger?

yes, I've been looking forward to the year 2014 for about 20 years as I have always believed it would prove them to be the liars that they are (not that we need proof, common sense will do nicely).

However, as mentioned earlier, I do not now think it will make any difference to them. They are brainwashed and the only hope they have will come from within their own selves. Nothing else will make a difference but we all live in hope.

I do indeed hope to see the WT$ 'melt down' in my lifetime and maybe 2014 will have a share in this.
