Plum, that is so true, unfortunately, the majority are afraid to think, or make decisions for themselves lest they be accused of independent thinking. They even cut and paste material to give any "spiritual" replies regarding anything borg. It is sad. They are taught to love conditionally or not to show that love within its boundries in case anyone is watching.

Tennessee Aposta-meetup a success

tink and i attended our first apostate meetup here in tn.

it was absolutely great.

Mr. Myself and I had a great time too! He kind of sat back for a little while and just observed (typical behavior for him). He joined in after his observations LOL I think it has to do with his background. When we left he let me know how much he really enjoyed it. Maybe he will join us as a regular apostate

CC it was nice to finally meet you in person. Tink can't wait for the pics, but get your rest ( I haven't been up for too long, oh the luxury of sleeping in.) Joe and Barbara enjoy that Sunday paper! Tim it was so nice to meet you, enjoyed your experience and hope your wife maks it next time. Worldly Girl, so glad to see you again and wish I knew when we met before what our backgrounds were oooohhhh the fun we could have already had. Bill, what a great day for a motorcyle ride. Thank you for coming down and sharing your experiences with us. My husband hasn't seen so much from the internet side of it but has watched the news conferences and media coverage. He now understands even more so the importance of what you are trying to do (you too Barbara & Joe). John it was nice meeting you and your wife too. Recoveringexjw glad you were able to make it too, look forward to hearing about your covert experiences at the KH. Noi, I will see you this afternoon.

How Have U Changed since Leaving?

i've been thinking about changes in my world view lately and wonder if others have had a similarly subtle, yet profound, outlook on life.

not being a jw nor even a believer anymore has made a subtle change that ive observed.

to begin with, i read somewhere that people tend to bring their own standards to their religion.

Pat, nice thread. I have changed mostly in my tolerence and respect for others, their feelings and their beliefs. It is not my way or no way. I have sympathy for those who have to face the shunning, I have experienced it too. Funny, while I was df'd I understood it and thought it was fine that it served its purpose. I was confused when after being re-instated that I was still shunned by those I loved most. Now it doesn't matter, I don't crave conditional love. I have changed in that I no longer suffer depression. I don't jump through hoops to impress anyone anymore. I am true to I am, take it or leave it. Life has more meaning now that I don't ignore things thinking that "one day Jah will take care of it", thinking that is the answer to all my problems. Now I face the problems (which are few) and I find a way resolve it, or accept it and go on.

1 Star Review of Crisis of Conscience

i have just finished reading crisis of conscience and thought it was great.

never before has the gb been exposed as a bunch of men turning their personal opinions into law for millions like this book has.

instead of being a group of men transformed by holy spirit into bible scholars devoutly pouring over the scriptures, they are just bumbling men, inferior to the great philosophers of humankind that they put down for their "empty teachings.

today has been as rough day for me.

i got up this morning hoping our van would pass the ontario emission tests for clean driving.

we put 400.00 dollars to make sure it would pass and it didn't pass it failed and to beat that we are at our daughters home a couple of hours away from our home.
