  Chicken Sacrifice

  well, it's that time again.

  time for the chicken sacrifice.

  it's called kaparrot and it's a jewish thing.. a few days before yom kippur the rab takes a chicken and *magically* transfers his sins to the chicken...kind of like when you rub someone to "put your cooties on them"...and then he swings the chicken around his head 3 times (three is a magical number i guess...ask obves) and he chants some little diddy like.

  Unexpected JW reaction

  i talked to a jw i know and got an unexpected reaction.. i mentioned some of the "conspiracy theory" stuff i have heard...about one taken, one left behind ...and what i have heard about people will be picked up in the middle of the night and taken away to "places".

  this jw took it right in stride and said "yes, that's the way it was done when the nazi's started.

  many jws were killed then...blah blah".

  NO!!! That's always been in the cards, that some would be treated roughly in the GT. I was a "50's JW" and heard it from way back then. You hear it mentioned occasionally. It gets amplified when some high level speaker goes on a persecution jag.

  Milk and Meat are poisoning people and destroying our health!

  i have read a dozen different health books that come to this same conclusion.

  what is milk?

  mammal infants require milk from their own species to grow quickly and start solid food.

  I swear, when mankind does not have to worry about dying from the

  plague or being eaten by a sabretooth tiger , he gets neurotic. I think fear is hard-wired in to our genes and without a decent "enemy", we make up one. Now we are afraid of our own food.

  Agreed: I have conquered these fears. The person who said "do it balanced" has the right idea. But for every conspiracy/superstition/fear that I conquer (internal(ly)), there is an external NUT to pound on my exoskeleton about something

  Washington Mutual reverting to previous bad behavior after bail out by fed!

  i posted this on burn the ships' thread but there was a lot more going on so i think it was missed.. washington mutual was on the verge of of failing.

  the fed overnight comes in and promises to buy out all bad mortgage debt so that banks could free up credit and make their bottom line look better for the stock market.

  the stock market buys in and ups it self by 400 points.

  2 - slightly enhancing smaller credit lines

  Neither one of these appears unsound. In fact, #1 seems prudent; #2 will not kill them.

  A friend of mine HAD a 250K$ Line of Credit: she uses this to manage her 16-odd units of quad-plexes. WaMu cut it back to 75K$, causing her considerable grief in an expansion plan. They told her they were getting out of that business.

  You are a smaller good customer and got an attaboy; a larger good customer got a chop. You may have ISD: Insufficient Data.

  i didn't know this.... i was there...i was only 6 years old, but i remember it..... all that sport consequence, and you know what yankee stadium's record crowd 123,707 will forever be?

  I was there in '58, also. I believe the number was higher, but it included the Polo Grounds AND they counted the campgrounds that had an audio feed. So, the 123K # @ Yankee Stadium would sound right, just for the Stadium. WTS always used the total number.

  Where would you relocate in Texas and why?

  i love the heat, humidity, palm trees, and the ocean.

  at the same time, i don't want to get flooded out by a hurricane.. do you think there are places far enough above sea level that don't get flooded in houston?.

  would you recommend dallas as a good place to relocate?.

  I went flying in Corpus once: the air charts showed less than 20 feet about that many miles inland. I met a guy that lost an arm working on power lines after the hurricane: they were using boats to go between poles!!! (He got hit by lightning and was knocked out of the pole, snagging a wire on the way down.)

  The Hill Country is very nice; it's probably been consumed since I was there.

  this is an excerpt from an email i got from a friend.. what do you think is worse, muslim or pentacostal?????????

  did you see obama on one of those sunday talk shows when he slipped and said "they" are attacking my muslim faith???????

  me thinks me better stick to my european (england) southern roots.... did anybody else see this tv interview?
