I have a question

now that the new young people ask volume 1 has replaced the old ypa book (can't believe that some don't realise why it was called volume 1 when it was released second, duh!

), i was wondering if anyone has ever compared the two books, the old and the new.

what have they changed?.

i recieved a letter from my jw friend a few days ago who encouraged me to return to the organisation.

she quoted the following scripture, and although i think its a great one, the jw view of it is twisted.. lord, whom shall we go away to?

Timmy, you hit the nail on the head. This is a subtle, but powerful bit of mind-control the way the GB conflates Jehovah & Jesus with the WTBTS. Virtually every article directed at the Rank & File JWs will have one or more statements asserting that they are "God's organization". Once they get that in your mind, it's easy to then draw the conclusion that there is no salvation apart from the WTBTS because they are "God's visible organization" here on earth.

The scriptures and WT references you cited are just a very few examples of how the GB hammers this point home again and again. It takes some good critical-thinkning skills and an awareness of the art of manipulation to see this. Most JWs have neither of these things, and frankly they want to believe. After all, wouldn't it be nice if it were true. But sadly it is not true, not even close.

i have found myself drinking more and more since i realized that the truth was a lie just to quiet my mind.

it's not like i am a drunk or anything, it hasn't affected my work or relationships, it is that i really don't like being a slave to anyone or anything including delicious beer.

mmmm beer.... so to avoid being a slave to a habit, i have determined to stop drinking.

According to current WT policy, it can only be reported if there are TWO WITNESSES to the mindf***ing. Unfortunately, since it too was invisible, I'm afraid you are also screwed, however only metaphorically of course.

Regarding your wife, did she scream when she was being mindf***ed ? If not, then she is apparently a willing participant in the event. Unless she confesses the matter to you, again, you are screwed.

when i was still in, i read a scripture that i think got me started on my route to leaving and not buying into the bs anymore.. for the longest time (ever since i was baptized) i wasn't exactly the beacon of a model brother in what i was really doing.

Interesting, I never thought of it this way before. If you have a df'd relative that lives separately you can't even TALK to them. But if the df'd relative is your husband or wife and you still live together than you not only can, but you SHOULD has sex with them on a regular basis (marital dues)! That's all right ... I guess just as long as there is not any oral/anal/sexting/phone sex!

To answer the question posed by discreetslave, being mindf***ed is perfectly acceptable because, evidently, it happens invisibly.

This is particularly true when it is the GB doing the mindf***ing and YOU are the one being, er, "bent over" as it were.
