  It's official... Richland, Washington... here we come!

  we finally made the decision last night... though we will miss our ex's in texas... we are headed to washington.. for those who are not familiar with washington, richland is not green and wet like the seattle area, but more like an arid dessert.

  the are does have some of the best school averages in the country.. we'll be there next month.

  any kingdom halls there?.

  Me too. Richland is really hot in the summertime. That's the only time I've ever been there. I guess you are used to hot summers though.

  example....a cop pulls you over for a broken taillight or some other very minor infraction.

  he says he is just going to give you a warning, then says something like...."hey, you don't have any rockets or explosives in your trunk do you?

  " you of course say no, then he says "mind if i look?

  I have nothing to hide, so wouldn't object to any kind of a search. My trunk has a bottle of Febreeze in it, and a quilt. What can they do with that?

  Have you recovered financially since leaving the Tower?

  remember how many families (maybe even yours) struggled with money issues while being a jdub?

  i remember lots of families under stress due to being jdubs.

  you are always told by the tower not to work overtime if it conflicts with the meetings and not to go for higher education, for the same reason.

  We are much better off financially. My husband and two of our sons started their own drywall contracting business and they are busy all the time, and the money is the best we've ever had. We have several employees too, so the business supports about 6 families.

  they said he was stuck in traffic.............they acknowledged him later on. His win was one of the first presentations.

  I loved Tom Hanks' tribute to Warren Beatty, and Warren's speech. Very funny.

  I was rooting for Jennifer Hudson, and she won! Yay!

  Also Ugly Betty won two awards. I love that show, and the whole concept of beauty from the inside.

  Princess' Polar Bear Swim

  she will probably kill me for posting these photos, but i can't resist.. last thursday, our rachel (princess here) and one of her friends decided to dive into a local lake and do a polar bear swim, despite the fact that the temperature was in the teens and there was fresh snow from the night before.. here are a few photos.

  She is an awesome athlete. As to what I fed her?..................can't say it had anything to do with what she does now.

  Sometimes I wonder where she came from. She is very driven.

  Snow .................again.

  it snowed here at the end of december and i said then that it usually doesn't snow here in the seattle area until january or february.. well.............they predicted a big snowstorm last night, and it didn't happen, but it's snowing now, really hard.

  not sure if it will last long, because the weather forecasters can't seem to predict much correctly, other than rain and wind.. i was hoping to take pictures but it's dark, so will have to wait until morning.

  a cold front is supposedly going to last awhile here, so the snow should be around for a few days this time..

  7AM and it is snowing pretty hard and has been for a few hours. Schools closed again. Poor kids............I wonder if they will have any summer left after making up snow days this year.

  They say it will be rain in a few hours. It's still dark, so I am hoping it doesn't start melting before the sun comes up.

  John Denver v Jay Leno

  i 've heard snippets of this absurd urban myth about jay leno asking j denver to leave his show because he hated jw's.

  but why on earth on a prime time slot would j leno start asking j denver about jw's?

  and i don't think j leno is a particularly spiritual guy or wt supporter is he?

  The fact is, it was Don Ho in Hawaii.

  There was a couple in our cong., whose son lived in Hawaii and worked for Don Ho. Truth is he liked JW's and had lots of them in his employ.
