RUSSELL and the FREEMASONS
by sizemik inan interesting take on jehovah's witnesses from an "outsider" .
a uber-modernist, fundamentalist, apocalyptic, christain movement inhabiting cyberspace and going by the handle of "the fuel project" lol.

Wow, this bit of info surprised even me!!!
by LeKook ini just spoke to a witness friend (has been a witness 25+ years), who said that the elders in her congregation told her that witnesses had better be prepared to begin going door to door, not to announce "good news", but to denounce people who refuse to accept "the trvth".
has anyone else heard about this?
i thought it was a joke at first, but she said no, that's where the elders told her things were headed.

smiddy, can you give some specific examples? people like to hear the experiences of guys/gals that been around longer, i wasn't even alive in the 60's , so to me whatever you have to say is interesting regarding this matter.

size this is so old bro. there are so many videos on this, this joker doing the narrating is just some dipshit opportunist. that information is everywhere. from what i gathered, when i saw this a long time ago.. they took russell's comments out of context when he gave that sermon to the masons. regarding him being a mason, he was supposedly emulating paul's technique. one thing that did grab me was the artwork though, it definitely had the masonic thing going. and that whole thing about russell having 2 graves, and the one is decorated in all the mason adornments. hell he may as well been a mason, he was everything else, why not.

i was just thinking ...you remember that tract from i think 2007? said "the end of false religion is near"? something like that. had a lightning bolt, so as to suggest the obvious. so who knows, maybe they are leading up to this type of madness. haven't we learned this is the destiny of all cults though? so why should it really surprise anyone.
its like that jim jones cult...as i understand a lot of good people got sucked into that. when those guys finally got what they wanted, they got out in the wilderness and started living like "adam and eve"...was like wait a minute, life still sucks..."i thought...".probably a culmination of the realization they were chasing a fairy tale, along with realizing the persecution they were receiving wasn't because they were "god's chosen", but because they were clowns...was just to much to handle...hence the kool-aid. which is what might happen with these jws. the culmination of realizing their utopia is actually not what they thought it was...and realizing they really were chasing santa claus...and oh shit we have real problems to solve, we actually have to grow up and be adults and deal with our problems? it's to much for them to handle, so yea they will self fulfill their own prophecy.
my experience in life tells me one thing, one lesson in all this. it sounds corny but it's true. if you are not a glass half full person, you wont make it in life. (ofcourse you also need to exercise certain disciplines and lifestyles along with that adage).
ofcourse this might be all hearsay that really isn't in the works, and just is nonsense. i tend to think it's nonsense, but at the same time wouldnt totally surprise me if it wasn't. these guys need to make major policy changes in their organization. and if they are so stubborn to refuse the changes because of their pride, the other option is they take the entire ship down with their massive egos. good riddance to them if they do, i just feel bad for the decent folks still trapped in there.

T. Jefferson was on the money (no pun intended)
by cptkirk injust listen to this excerpt from his book written what 200 years ago?.
"they have been still more disfigured"(christ's words)"by the corruptions of schismatizing followers, who have found an interest in sophisticating and perverting the simple doctrines he taught by engrafting on them the mysticisms of a grecian sophist (plato), frittering them into subtilities and obscuring them with jargon, until they have caused good men to reject the whole in disgust, and to view jesus himself as an imposter.".
wow?.

Golden Age Goodies
by Leolaia inrecently i had the pleasure to examine a stash of 1920s and 1930s golden age magazines, among the rarest of watchtower publications.
i thought it would be a fun idea to have a thread in which i share with you some of the amazing, ridiculous, hilarious things contained therein.
hence, this is the first post of a series of excerpts, scans, etc.

i want to read this all in greater detail. but one thing that really smacks me after reading through a few pages...is it me or do the jw's come across as very intertwined into "worldly" affairs? this to me is very interesting...because i think it explains a lot. they just make it up as they go along. when things got to hot at some point my guess is they said "ohh newlight we are no part of the world"...so they probably pulled back...but not because it had any scriptural basis, only because they couldn't take the heat. so a couple decades go by and here we find them in 1993? they stealthily hook back into world affairs via the UN. the GB are weasels. name dropping the KKK...
and now with their members becoming so much more informed, it's thwarting their agenda. (ie. demanding them to get out of the UN NGO). so it's only reasonable that they would set forth some kind of self fulfilling prophecy regarding their persecution. (changing their message to flat out doom as one thread alluded to today)
and ofcourse why should they be different than any other cult? when they realize their entire world is a lie, IT'S KOOLAID TIME!
time to face it guys (GB) you wanted to be meaningful, but you aren't. do the responsible thing and disband the religion. dont go out like jim jones.
