Cedars, yes there is no quick fix and she is the type that is loyal and dutyful fortunately for the WT. I have some patience and if we do not talk about the issue it goes away....until she is involved in some sort of JW activity. I did warn her that we may not be around if she decides the JWs are more important than us. This hasn't happened yet ...

Power of attorney of transfusion issues in the UK
by trailerfitter inhi you wonderful people, i have a serious question.
when my wife finally gets baptised will she have to sign the power of attorney over to the jws automatically or this a voluntary thing?
i am concerned being a none bleiever that she will undermine my authority on this issue.

I think that she will be loosing her card on a regular basis when she does get it. ( evil laugh)
I would prefer that she faced serious concequences with her church rather than our family and the risk of death. Hopefully nothing will come of it but her sister in Laws' huband had a motorcycle accident and lost his spleen, She refused him blood so it eventually came down to other family members to sort it out....oh, since my wife has been involved with the BORG this story has already changed to exonerate her sister....

i was always taught from my jw days that nothing came from nothing,and i accepted that.. all of creation had a start,and reproduced itself according to it`s kind according to genesis.

The universe fgortunately has a finite sell by date on it. It is expanding at a faster rate now than before, it's accelerating as it spreads out.
Eventually it will collapse in on iteslf perhaps causing yet another big bang and start the whole thing all over again.
Forget the "without beginning or without end" if you consider man was made in the image us( GOD). puts a new perspective on things. A weak pathetic and cruel creature who would claim everything and prove absolutely nothing.!!! Sorry if you don't feel that way we are all allowed our own opinion.... You can answer what your personal god is to you? He has promised you eternal life,...that is a long time I can tell you even though it will not be on this planet as we have another galaxy hurtling towards us. It will be here in a few billion years though so don't worry.

we are in the UK and I presume this is no difference to that of the US when it come down to those having the last say in matters of life and death?

Zid, it won't work. She is hooked "big time". It is all new and shiney for her. I am slightly Empatic so feel the lovely white fuzzy feeling and also see the emotion in her eyes about it. (that also includes the fingers in ears tactic too). She is Russian so any reference to men domiating the field is nothing new to her. They treat men and put them on pedistals there!!!...
Cedars.... I hear all the time from my beloved that family comes first but she still manages to find time to read study BS and go to the KH 3 time a week and add some ministry on top of that. I hope the WT material is timed correctly to suit the UK as well as the US then I will actually stop any counter activity about the WT.

Oh,.. the 600 000 in the desert after running away from Pharoh. I started thinking about the logistics on this one. Picutre a small city of inhabitants setting down somewhere. The operations of of microcosm would have to be considered. Where do they get water supplied from in desert conditions. They either have to send massive hunting parties out, water collections, raiding a pillaging settlement that stands in their way in order no one starves. The waste disposal issues would bring disease means that people who are camped would be no better off than those of refugees running away from a natural disaster.
Bit like the Noah story nice to read but to actually apply modern adult logic to the practical logisitic of the story it becomes un realistic.

Watchtower teaching have all the bases covered?
by trailerfitter ini am not sure if you are aware of the proposals by pastor micheal stahl who wants to get a register of atheists started so they activities like boycotting their businesses can be engaged in.
i mensioned this to my jw wife who already who i am trying to show that the wt policies are just a nutty as other american religious influences however she just retored that this is the sign of the end because there is a war going on.
i cannot get through to her and everything goes back to her newly found belief being the only true one.

Cedars,...thank you for that warning. I hope this is in a series of further warnings. This sort of attitude is from the WTBTS is very effective.
When I first started having regular contact with the JWs though the wifes bible class I started to investigate the organisation digging up anything I could find. Eventually I found a BBC article on a Peadofile in the KH via the internet. You know the stories so I won't go into it. I asked the BS teacher what she thought of it. She was shocked and honestly didn't know this sort of thing was happening. I was amazed that for a few weeks afterwards she reacted to me totally differently and she appeared more afraid of me than usual. Yes she is afraid of me for some reason,...She must having been thinking I was Satan incarnate over this enlightenment. I have no idea what she did to remove any doubt of the organisation after this attempt at wrecking their Bullpoo Bible Study tea parties.
Wife said that Satan ruled the internet and nothing was to be trusted.. however the trusted site where she got her information about Abraham Lincoln and his belief in god was okay though... (no Surprise there then huh?).
I really would like to know where the buttons in the head were to "release wife from self deluding thoughts" is.
