glorious ones?
the term i heard most often from bethelites was "given ones." isnt that the most common term today?

barbara anderson's attention was called to the thread about the differences in policy of great britain and the us regarding child abuse; as you know she has championed a change in that policy.
another post caught her eye, and she expressed the desire to share some thoughts with you.
i'm delighted to share her first post, which i know you will find riveting.

this image appeared in the golden age of march 30, 1932, p. 409, and is very typical of similar pictures or watchtower cartoons of the era.
note the dead and pock marked babies below.

question.
my mother told my husband that there is to be a 'special meeting' in october at the local sports arena (same place as dc's are held here) and that "only publishers are allowed to attend" that they will get "special cards" for admission from their local congregation and have to hand them in to get into the building.
i have no idea if this has anything to do with the "annual meeting" they always have (isn't that generally in october?
arg. i hate it when max says that.

just thought id like to remind all the former pioneers that today would be the last day to get in your time for the year.
unless you were one of those annoying elite pioneers that got your time in early - i hated you folks.
actually i suspect that most of the former pioneers here didnt get their time in that often at all.
michael: didnt those nervous tummy feeling go away after a while? it got easier and easier every time!
in celebration of New Service Year's Eve, and also as a memento for all of days gone by, how bout i post my personal timesheet from my first ever auxiliary pioneer months. aug 1988. i still remember that long aug 31, putting in a 5 hour day to catch up. at that time, 5 hours seemed like forever, it would be yers later as a regular pioneer id learn to put in a 5 hour day or more without hardly noticing id even BEEN in service, hehe.
i also see from my records that Mrs Jones with the Last Days article placed is long overdue for an RV!

i look back on the 1970s with a sense of loss and nostalgia.
i was a young man, just married, and so much in love with my beautiful wife.
i had just started my engineering career, and was debt free.
ive often thought about this question of going back in time to try and convince yourself. lets say that you can go back and talk to yourself but you cant indicate that you are from the future or that you are actually YOU. nothing to indicate that your visit is supernatural, you just have to try and reason with yourself on the facts.
would you listen?
i think its the rare individual that would be persuaded if approached during the period in their life when they were most faithful to the WT. sure, you THINK you'd listen. but you forget the mindset you once had i think, like a bad dream.

has anyone on here ever come across the tiniest shred of evidence supporting this date for the fall of jerusalem.
i understand rolf furuli is about to but something out on this subject (see elihubooks.com), however even a table of contents has been a long time in coming from this site.
if no evidence exists what can he possibly be writing about?
i agree hillary. i was kinda showing how easy and realistic it would be for the WT to get out of the chronology business altogether. i for one wish they would.
