cedars you are funny - I'm afraid I don't take you seriously but I doubt that will affect you.
shamus - I question why the state prosecutor has not taken over the case.
this is weird?!
i just came accross this on mr unthank's personal site: http://stevenunthank.wordpress.com/monies/i recently read something where the wts is, let's just say connected, to various institutions/companies to wield/get their way.....is this one or just coincidence?

nugget I know court cases and lawyers fees are expensive. But this case has not made it that far yet and appears unlikely to.

skepticism and caution are not silly cedars. you are very silly to say so. soliciting for donations is serious and needs to be taken seriously.
many have been suggesting that mr unthank use a lawyer but he insists on representing himself and whats more he insists on representing himself according to how, in his view, the society represents itself. Plus only one case appears to be in motion and still the police have not made any charges against the Traralgon congregation - this speaks volumes.
I'm not saying Mr Unthank is being dishonest but I will say he is being very naive and he appears to be unable to interpret what is required legally - this is understandable as he does not have legal training.
Mr Unthank please let the state prosecutor take on the case without strings attached.

perhaps some donaters have wised up and are asking for their money back?
edit: and anyway why does Mr Unthank need more donations at this point?

What the meaning of human life may be I don't know: I incline to suspect that it has none. All I know about it is that, to me at least, it is very amusing while it lasts. Even its troubles, indeed, can be amusing. Moreover, they tend to foster the human qualities that I admire most-courage and its analogues. |
courage and its analogues - qualities I admire most too
from my own experience as a JW it is this quality - courage - that I focused on most to get me through horrendously difficult patches during my life as a JW. Somehow Jehovah could not sustain me because whenever I turned to me he seemed to be pointing at my faults, also he was what made men treat women unjustly in the congregation and always seemed to demand even vulnerable people to perform above their capacity. Of course my family, my children, my natural interests have motivated me too. But I owe a lot to the concept of courage. So imagine my delight when I began studing the classics, to discover that this quality is a top virtue. I'd actually recommend that if xjws feel that there is a gap after Jehovah's witnesses, and if life seems very pointless after all the courageous endeavours they performed as JWs, then I recommend focusing on this virtue and see where it leads. Their courage from their JW life is still with them and goes with them. Love gets a lot of press here on JWN via christ but imo courage is even more important than love.
this is what we were told in a recent public talk.
if true then it is very intriguing and may support the point being made in the talk that we know nothing compared to god.
the audience was spell bound and even i had to admit the young man gave an excellent talk.. i thought i'd come here to check the facts first though.
you guys are funny.
one thing I do know is that he reads mags like the new scientist and he is known in the congregation to do so. I think he made a mistake as witness my fury suggested or perhaps misunderstood something he read. he is a very nice guy and would be very willing to discuss the subject so I might give it a try
been lurking for a bit, and feel safe enough now to tell my story (condensed).. i'm a third-generation born-in, but my parents were inactive for most of my upbringing.
this means i got the worst of both worlds--no worldly friends (home schooled all but grades 2-3), no witness friends (since we never went to the hall except for memorial), and a generally isolated upbringing in a tiny, tiny town.
needless to say, my emotional, social, and personal growth were stunted.
hi I want to believe
